  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealers can't or won't sell me a car

If your state in your profile is accurate, yeah, it was your dealership. They wouldn't discuss shipping with me; the quote was from my local. Apparently that one is the only Polar Ice in the US that isn't a demo. There's one listed as new in VA but it's the owner's demo/loaner car with a few thousand on it, who was gracious enough to offer to sell it to me used for more than what I would pay for new (if there was any inventory). And that's the 3 in the US.

I want the car, but it's not like I need it or anything. I feel dumb for getting floor mats but I seriously expected to be able to buy the car I wanted when I got back from my travel.

My main bitching is just the dealerships in general during my purchasing experience feel... greasy. Very reluctant to help, very unmotivated, disconnected salesmen, unresponsive to messages, and outright lying and fabrication in person. Maybe it's just Philly that's cursed. But they have a long way to go if they want to compete with BMW & friends.

What's the latest? Did you get a G80 Sport?

Nope. I'm waiting a bit to see what happens with the 19MYs. I still would like the car, but I have concerns about the dealer network, even living in a major metro area. The whole concierge/loaner perk is worthless if there's one frazzled dealer servicing the entire city and burbs.

I may take you up on that offer once they get some back in stock- I'm honestly tired of the 50 shades of gray that most cars come in and wouldn't mind some blue.

Edit: New London, PA, right? :)
I could only find a blue at dealers in another state for the G90 and had to drive 2.5 hours to get to the smart dealer who bought 3 browns and some blues.
Showing me a picture; no thank you.
Thinking of taking some pictures of my brown to sell to the local dealer since no one there has ever seen one besides mine.

The dealership uncertainty is a big concern for me too. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out sooner than later. I've been looking at a couple of alternative sedans (A6 and 5 Series) which do cost more. How much more I'm willing to spend is still to be determined.

I'm sure a lot of the 2015s will be coming off lease. You might have to search, but you should be able to find what you want. Low miles, etc.

From thing written here recently and talking to my own dealer, they are very close. Of course one the dealers are determined and in business it can take a couple of months to be smooth everywhere but I have confidence it will be working well next year.
