  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any recomendations for a dealer in Northern NJ? I live near Morristown. Anyone deal with Brad Benson?

I delt with Brad Benson

when talking about price, they pushed the whole "we're the third highest selling hyundai in america" and "the genesis is compared to lexus" and stuff like that

The dealer experience so far is very scary in the two places I've visited. With Maxon in Union the sales reps didn't know how to hook a battery jumper to the car. On route 10 in denville they were too busy talking about their dates to deal with me.

I wish Hyundai would just buy the Saturn dealerships and dedicate them to the Genesis.

i actually came with a neutral party to help negotiations.
on the first day, we walked in and said we weren't interested on buying
the second day, they called us up to come in

we left with an argument of price break

on the third day, they called back and agreed to our price

they then tried to add on transport cost and window etching for an extra 1500
up to this point, i let the neutral party negotiate and i would say little
but when they began to add extra costs, after an hour of arguing about taking it off, I said the hell with this i'm getting a lexus, so i stormed out of the door and the salesperson called me back and we agreed on the desired price.

Maxon has no idea how to sell at all

when my dad bought his azera he geared the entire transaction and price agreement. he talked as much as the dealer is supposed to talk

my mom bought a Veracruz at Wayne Hyundai/Mazda
when we went for the Genesis, they didnt have any, but that was in October so perhaps their inventory has been bumped

are you looking for a sedan or a coupe?

A Sedan. Not sure about what engine yet. Recomendations?

well I know they have the biggest selection of V8 sedans around
go on www.bradbensonhyundai.com to check their inventory

as I have seen to my knowledge, they have only sold my V8, if any 2 total

I would go for the V8

they are also not negotiating any leasing deals for the 4.6

Don't believe in leasing. I drive too much. Thanks for the advice on the v8. Plan to give it a test drive next week.

I did my research traveling between north, south and central NJ. You won't find a more honest, non pressured, open and pleasant negotiation than at Stateline Hyundai in Phillipsburg, NJ. Believe me, it is worth the drive. CJ is the Sales Manager and he will treat you well.:o

If you mostly drive with 1 or 2 adults, the V6 is plenty powerful enough. Most people actually think it is more responsive than the V8 around town.

Also, the V8 is a brand new engine, and the V6 has been around awhile on other Hyundai cars (although it was slightly modified for the Genesis).

Because I was in the area, I stopped at Towne Hyundai in Denville. They had a 3.8 with tech and prem for 42k. 2k over sticker. Down on the whole dealer experience. While the car I drove was nice it sure wasn't worth 14k more than an Accord v6 with nav that has a record with resale.
