  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got the clean look I wanted. First I was going to just get rid of the G80 since it was off center, but then I took a pic of the car and got rid of the "GENESIS" and it looked nice, so I took off the rest.

Pretty easy to do. I left the car out in the sun, used a soft/flexible plastic spatula (I have one that's mainly for applying decals, but a thinner one that's either from an old George Foreman grill or one of my kids arts and crafts sets). The lettering came off very easily. Then sprayed a small terry cloth towel with bumper sticker remover and any leftover glue/tape came off with hardly any rubbing. Made sure to wash the car afterwards to avoid any of that residue staying on the car. I've debadged Acuras, Infiinitis and BMWs in the past. This was by far the quickest. Didn't require a heat gun or dental floss, which I've had to use on other cars. Total time under 10 mins. I left the hood embled on there (not sure if it attaches with pins).

I'm mulling 3D printing my own version of the Genesis emblems to put on the rear and front hood, but that's a longer term project. For now I like the clean look.

I've noticed about a dozen people in parking lots/gas stations catch the side profile of the car or the rims, then nonchalantly go around to the back of the car to figure out what it is, only to realize there's nothing there. Frankly, even when I had the badging still on the car, people still had no idea what a Genesis was.

My first reaction is it looks a littel "Tesla" and I like the "wingy" look.

Looks clean. I would must definitely place an Genesis wing emblem in the back to get rid of the large dead space on the trunk. It looks too plain without any emblem in my opinion.

I love the wheels.:)

Do you still have your “Genesis” lettering that I could take off your hands? 😁

I do, but I keep them for when I need to resell the car!

ahrajani,

Looks like we have twin cars :). I haven't taken the GENESIS letters off my trunk yet but I have removed all other script. You've got me saying as I view your car, 'that looks grear', no wait, it looks naked but I like it .............. and so on.
Seeing your letters are already off (they're not easy to align if you decide to put them back ) and I'm still on the fence about removing mine I wonder what a very thin silver pin stripe from the top row of the tail lights would do to make the rear look a bit less Tesla. The wing emblem is nice but with the rear of the car is so simply elegant to me the emblem strikes me as boarding on 'over kill'.
If you do it post it.
