  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thought I would post a new thread for the latest update for our 2022 and 2023 GV80's. I downloaded and installed the latest update (posted today, 19 Dec 2022) for my 2023 GV80. So far everything seems to be corrected from the fiasco of the October 2022 update.

1. HUD now displays speed limit sign.
2. Speed limit signs on the HUD and dash now change red when you exceed the preset limit.
3. SXM channel changes now show up on the HUD.

This is all I have had a chance to verify. Did not check if a caller in your contacts will now show on the HUD. Not certain of any other issues we had. So bottom line, it is safe to load the update on the 2023 GV80 and I will assume the 2022 GV80 since it is the same load as the one for the 2023. Enjoy.

How do you get the update and how is it installed?

You need to download the updater to your PC. Go here to get it: Official Genesis Navigation Update Website

Once you have done that and registered, you can download the update to a USB thumb drive.
You put the USB thumb drive into the data port of the GV80 and go to the software section of the menus and select update. It will take about an hour to update the system. I leave my GV80 running the whole time, but others have shut theirs off and get an email when it is complete.

Thank you.

Your very welcome. I am a happy camper now with this update.

Thanks DaleNet for being a beta tester throughout this process and helping out.
People like you is why I read these forums.

I try. Want us all to have the best experience we can with our vehicles. Not much we can do about the service centers. We will just have to be patient until the stand-alone service centers are built. I have not had mine serviced yet but did have them get me my digital key card and mud flaps. Also had them installed along with wheel locks. So far, they have been really good. I am a long-time customer, so they do treat me well.

I have 2021 and only thing not working after update was voice commands. Did update resolve this?

Do not use voice commands, so I could not tell you. Those of us with the 2022 and 223 GV80 had so many other issues.

The 2022 and 2023 got a new version to fix the issues they caused with the last update.

One other observation since the update. Seems that the profile comes up much faster now.

Text messaging is working good now too.

DaleNet, you rock ;)

Thank you for your post. I am about to demonstrate my lack of tech savviness if that is a word. Can't the software updates be done OTA? I have a 2022 GV80 3.5T Prestige. My current software shows 210813 at the end. That means my software version is from August 13, 2021?

The software for the 2021 has not been changed. It was just the 22 and 23 software they updated a few days ago. Your issue might not be related to the update you did in November.

Our vehicle does have OTA capability, but Genesis has not pushed any updates OTA so far. You are correct in that your current software is 13 August 2021, so you are well behind. Just get the updater and download the update to a USB thumb drive. Then manually update your software.

DaleNet, I did get a minor update pushed OTA to my car over the summer. I was not a big update like the maps, I think it had to do with the radio or something. There is a thread somewhere on here about it.
In my audi, you could do an OTA on up to three regions of the US. But I think there were a total of 7 or so. If you wanted to do the whole US, you had to do it with a SD card. It was a lot more complicated as you had to perform a java script on the data in order to put in the car.

Just finished updating, took 58 minutes. 1st tried updating with car engine off, in ACC mode, failed after few minutes because power automatidally turned off. 2nd time was successful with car engine running.
