  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

An episode of Wheeler Dealers showed Edd decarbonising the engine of a Jaguar XK. The system was attached to the intake system and allowed to run for a quite long time and showed impressive results. Does anyone know where such a service might be found here in the states?

  1. You should consider that most of those shows feature products that pay them to demo it on the show. Several people on other forums mentioned that issue.
  2. That Jaguar shown in the video (available on YouTube) is an older model, so I would not automatically assume that a more modern engine would benefit as much.
  3. I would get some Fuel Injection Cleaner with Techron, made by Chevron (also sold by USA Hyundai dealers under the Hyundai name brand), and use that instead.

it is known that most all direct injection engines have carbon issues on the valves because the only thing passing the valves in these engines is air...no fuel, so mixing whatever in your fuel has very little affect on the back side of the valves where deposits build up. techron is pretty good stuff but so are Regane and other Gumout products.. they will help with the combustion chamber buildups..

best thing on the market for any DIY owner is CRC intake valve cleaner. it is specifically made for direct injection engines..

not all that hard to use..

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
But how is it used? Looks like an aerosol product.

It looks like you spray it down the throttle body with the engine running at fast idle (2000rpm).

Throttle body injection is ancient stuff - what my '86 Buick had.

Well it's a good thing his 3.8 is not DI, now isn't it? ;)

yep it is sprayed in the intake.. has to be sprayed After the MAF sensor and before the throttle body while the engine is running around 2000 RPM.. you spray in 30 second intervals until the entire can is empty..

CRC makes good stuff...

the gentleman made no reference to a throttle body injection... we all have throttle bodies to adjust air flow..

Throttle body injection - spraying stuff down it?

Sorry but not on my G2 V8

2009-2011 was not DGI, but 2012+ is DGI. Not simply a matter of G1 vs G2. This applies to both V6 and V8.

I did not realize they changed over mid-run on the first gens. GDi techincally, btw :P

As long as you use top tier gas, you should be OK.

Where do you spray it exactly? If you could post a picture of the exact location you spray CRC that would be helpful.
