Delivery/Waiting Times

Excited to be finally be a member of the Genesis community and a proud owner (just ordered) of 2022 G70

I have ordered my 2.0T prestige G70 a few weeks back in ON, Canada and I was informed that it'll take around 3 months. Just wondering what delivery times did you guys see during this pandemic?

Depending on the model I imagine that it's a similar story across the board. I was initially interested in a GV70 but it had a 3 month lead time, so ended up getting a G70 instead as there was plenty of stock (in August).

If you reach out to the dealership you could ask what models they are expecting more of in the near term, otherwise, patience is a virtue!

That makes sense, so I guess I'll have to wait for the 2.0T prestige as they are getting some sports and advanced this month.

That three months waiting is a Looooong time. Comes from Korea.

Years ago, when I lived in the Middle East (Beautiful Island of Cyprus) I special ordered a British car from England. Ordered in February. Arrived in May. Twelve weeks later. That twelve weeks was a Looooong time.

The dealer I'm working with in Kansas estimated 3-4 months after the order is 'pulled'. I'll update with any progress.

HI everyone…..I just ordered my 2022 GV70 and given a lead time of 16-20 weeks. I liver in Southern Ontario, Canada and since I’m leaving for holidays and back Mar 5th I don’t mind the wait. I have other cars so it’s worth the wait. Loved test driving it and looks are amazing. Can’t wait!!!

Hi Everyone

An update, I had ordered my Prestige G70 on October 16th 2021 and by first week of December no update on the estimated delivery time. The dealer gave an estimate of 3 months.
Then I came to know that apparently 5 G70 Sports were on the way to Ontario so I upgraded my Prestige to a Sport and I took delivery on December 30th 2021. I've been driving it and loving it since last week when the engine light came on for no apparent reason. I have an appointment later today, let's see what comes up.

But yeah try to be in touch with your dealer, they sometimes can hook you up.

I was told new orders are still 3-5 months. I put a deposit on one last week that was allocated to the dealer in September and is arriving next week. I was lucky enough to find one that wasn’t pre-sold.

This is interesting. I was told by my local Genesis dealer that Hyundai corporate doesn't accept orders and instead they accept "requests" that they will try to fill within usual dealer allotments, but it's not a guarantee. Of course, it's very possible that the salesperson lied to me and it's equally possible that it's different in other states / regions / countries. I wish you all the best of luck with your orders!

I'll also encourage people to look as far away from home as you are willing to travel. I travelled relatively far to find the exact G70 I wanted, and I regret nothing. Honestly, the long road trip back immediately after buying the car was a lot of fun and really got my acclimated to the car much faster than I would have had I been able to buy it locally.

That is true in the USA. Hyundai/Genesis Canada operates differently.

First post...good to hear others are in similar situations.
Ordered my GV70 in Toronto in late November 2021 and told it would arrive in March 2022.
In January I checked in with the salesperson and was told the ETA was May 2022.
In February the ETA moved to June 2022.
Having originally requested the Adriatic blue exterior (and told that these weren't made as often as white, gray and black) I asked if I changed to white if that might move quicker and was told that the white might arrive sooner - so I switched to white.
Emailed salesperson again this weekend to ensure that ETA has not moved even further into the summer....
Then of course the GV60 info arrived.
Looks beautiful and optimal (with gas prices now insane) but with the wait times this unpredictable who knows how many years those would take to arrive!

I been watching G70's for awhile before buying mine. Plenty of dealers have them in stock. I just waited to find the right color/option package from a dealer selling for MSRP.

USA. When I was shopping 3 weeks ago dealers in Knoxville, TN, Huntsville AL, and Atlanta GA had cars in stock.
Huntsville was only place selling them for msrp and no ADM or add on’s

Finally got my G70 today! Ordered Sept 16 2021, and picked up today April 8, 2022.
A long time for sure, but no shenanigans at the pick-up and was worth the wait!
Paid MSRP + ~$400 in doc fees.

Just got a VIN last week for my 2023 G70 3.3t Advanced in Makalu Grey, very excited to take delivery and my Genesis agent is telling me sometime in August. Anybody have experience or know of a ballpark estimate for how long it takes to take delivery after you receive a VIN?
I am in Toronto Canada and I was told i only get the VIN once the car arrives in Canada (Still takes some time to clear customs and get shipped here from port) but this info could be inaccurate.

Once I came to know that the car has reached the Vancouver port, it took 3-4 days for it to reach the dealership in Mississauga, ON

Did your Genesis agent tell you when it reached the port? how long was that from when you received your VIN
