Destination search button on mirror has never worked for me.

Yes, I am subscribed. Does the phone have to be connected with the USB? Whenever I ask for an address or "nearest golf course" it just replies that it does not understand the question.

Instead, just try "golf course" or "Tim Hortons" and it should display a list with the nearest first, by distance. It already knows to give you the nearest.

Thanks guys...I'll try that. So my understanding is that there is no special set up that I need to do.

You need a few prereqs: connected services on, and enrolled, and the modem updated.

You can do all of that from the car. Also, you should update, IMO, as v14 is the best interface yet.... Plus, they made changes along the way, v13 iirc, to what you are trying to do.

All done except for the update. Have about 500 klms left for my 1st maintenance so will probably do it then. Is this the same update as the map update.

Same issue here, never worked for me and kind of just forgot about it. I only use Android Auto so don't have much use for the builtin GPS.

Kind of a bummer cause having directions on the heads up display is cool. However, I always need Waze active for obvious reasons.

Yes, same as the map. Do it yourself via mapnsoft.

Also, log in to owners.genesis and make sure Genesis has it set up correctly.

The system uses Google to do the voice recognition...for me if can even match things like "Japaneiros" and "Kolache". What the system needs for even harder things (Cotija and Oaxaca) is the ability to spell.

I don't remember....it's somewhere in the Navigation settings, it's called "unified search" or something very similar

Going through all menu settings I can think of and trying some of the suggestions given still nothing doing....never understands the simplest of commands. FWIW my map version looks like 12. Would changing that fix the voice recognition issue or just update routes? Can I just update myself without going through the dealer?

In Quebec we are missing out on a lot of my favorites like Panera and Swiss Chalet but I'm grateful we have Timmy's. Heck I have all their locations permanently displayed on my nav map!

Yea go to the Mapnsoft website and make an account and order the update. It'll be delivered to you. It should eventually be available for download but map updates are free for 5 years so might as well order it!

Ahaha yea, Quebec has things to make up for it though, like amazing poutine
