  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Detroit Auto Show Unveiling Thread

Had to go wife's ipad. April at dealers?

Still no answer on R-Spec availability or details. The lady interviewer needs to ask.

He said "April-May for marketing launch". Whatever that means.
hyundaiusa.com says "Summer 2014"

Called my dealer few days ago and reminded them to keep me posted on availability. Really would like to see the car in the flesh.

One of the cars on stage had a 5.0 logo, but did not include an R-Spec logo. Not sure what that means. Pretty sure that final pricing has not been determined yet.

I could not get the live stream up on the desk top PC, but my wife's lap top pulled it up ASAP. Regardless, there was not very much info at all from the live event. Everything they said was already covered in the auto magazines. The best review was from Bill on our forum here. They did not even mention the new seat which is the most changed part of the car. Oh well, will wait until April and see.

I assume 5.0 is the loaded one at the car show. I guess if they even have an Rspec it may be like the current one ... just means it has all the options (tech and etc). I am just guessing that fully loaded will be $53k??

At one time in early 2012 model year Hyundai had both an R-Spec (with 5.0) and an regular 5.0. Then Hyundai dropped the 5.0 and the R-Spec was the only V8 available. So either the will have both R-Spec and 5.0 (plus V6's), or they have dropped the R-Spec. My wild guess is that they dropped the R-Spec. Ever since 2010 MY, all the Genesis V8's were fully loaded in terms of Tech stuff.

The 2015 features sheet shows that AWD is not available on the V8. Is that correct?

I did not see that. I would be surprised.

What feature sheet are you talking about? That seem unlikely to be correct.

No AWD on V8 would give me reason to seriously reconsider purchasing the '15.

There are options listed for the V8 so it may not come fully loaded like my 2011
