  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and would love some opinions. I just purchased a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD Ultimate. The car is a CPO with 9,800 miles. I purchased the vehicle today for $38.8k plus tax/license.

Do you think I got a good deal? I am in the bay area and haven't been able to find any Ultimate's for sale. Its a Empire State Gray with black interior.

I appreciate the feedback.

What did you get it for out the door? $38.8? We bought a new 5.0 for less than that...Ultimates are hard to find, they're usually "manager special" cars with a ton of miles on them.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I paid $45k OTD but this includes the extended warranty ($2,500) which covers everything including all electrical for 10 years 100k miles.

So the car was about $42.5k which includes sales tax/registration.

Congrats on the car

I was quoted ~$1750 by my finance guy for the warranty plan. He showed the price on the computer and added $200 plus he wanted to add it to the loan so add interest on top of that. I have always found it better to purchase the warranty after the fact since you can purchase them from any dealer in the country.

I didn't get a 3.8 AWD so can't comment on the deal but I did get my new 5.0 base for what you paid.

Normally folks have a go to guy for extended warranties, but doesn't seem to be the case here. I bought a 6/120k $100 deductible for $1800 + tax from the dealer. I have an AWD Ultimate and generally once plans exceed 100k miles, the price goes up fast. I didn't want the hassle this time emailing a bunch of out of state dealers. We put a lot of miles on our cars, so this works for me.

What difference does it make what anyone thinks? You already have the car. Are you happy with the deal you made? If so, it was a good deal. If you're not, it wasn't.

I was getting brand new 2015 3.8 ultimate at $37k with 35 miles without any haggling. I could have got it to $35k after some haggling. You can take it as reference.

If someone here told you that wasn't a great deal, what difference would that make?

It would make sense to ask that question before purchasing a new (to you) vehicle, asking after the fact is not going to do anything but potentially make you feel bad. If the car to you was worth the price you paid for it, you should be happy and move on.
