Hey all,

Wanted to offer this information to everyone looking to do the conversion so that you'll have other buying options available to you.

For everything except the bumper cover itself, I bought these off someone on the Genesis Owners facebook group for $1500 shipping included. The bumper cover itself is $500 new from Hyundai/Genesis, however, your body shop can probably get it for cheaper by some other means as mine did for me. Total parts cost ended up being under $2k as a result. If a bunch of you end up organizing to do a group buy, you can probably get them for the same price or cheaper than I did! I would recommend a guy directly located in South Korea, Albert Hwang, who you could find on the FB groups and perhaps he'll choose to identify himself here. While I didn't buy my parts through him, I've heard good things and would highly recommend him above all other options out there. Him or anyone directly located in South Korea, basically, so there's less people to cut into your total cost before labor

One other thing I'd note that I encountered and hadn't heard or seen when I was initially researching this conversion. The body shop I had perform this work is extremely competent. They are a masters shop that had at least 3 Ferraris in the shop, and plenty of other high-end exotics. I mention this because I think it lends some credibility to one of the concerns they had with the conversion, and that was with the brake ducts. For whatever reason, they had doubts about the stock brake ducts properly venting to the brakes with the sport bumper. As a result, they ended up modifying them a bit to ensure proper flow. Is that to say that you're going to have brake cooling issues without doing the same? I don't know. Just something to be aware of. The sport model brake ducts were not a fit with the rest of the 5.0 (they ordered those after getting further along with the car and ended up having to trash them, so I've not included those part numbers here as a result).

For those with Adaptive Cruise Control, these parts at the top are specific to you. For all else, you'll need to look up the versions without it:
Bumper cover part # is 86540-b1800 w/ bumper parking sensor holes room for adaptive cruise control cover
86350 B1920 Grill for Adaptive Cruise Control
86355 B1800 Adaptive Cruise Control Cover

All else:

12493 05167E
12493 04147E
86556 B1800
86320 B1600 (emblem, may not be necessary if you can re-use yours)
86513 B1500

86357 B1000
86555 B1800
86520b1810 (energy absorber which may/may not be necessary. My car needed it since I'd hit a deer)

Bumper sensors were re-used from my old bumper, so I did not include those. There may be some other electronic components they'll need to recycle from your old bumper as well.

Note that if you really want to finish the Sport look, you'd be looking at replacing the headlights, and the other chrome trim parts which are tinted on the Sport. And of course, the wheels. Those are next for me ;)

Hope this helps!

Looks nice overall with the sport grill and bumper. My only beef with the newer sport front bumper and grill is that they have dark chrome trim which looks mismatched to the other regular bright trim on the carwhich would just annoy me every time I wash my car

I do love the lighted emblem. I want the front with the white LED and the rear LED one that turn red when you brake.

Unfortunately it's not from the last time I looked into it which was awhile back.

Looks great! What did you do with fog lights?
Picking them up from the shop and will see if anyone here wants to buy them most likely. I wish there were some aftermarket ones out there for the sport bumper that would fit the new look

Yeah, the mismatch is something I noticed too, but knew going in. I would prefer the sport's chrome be brighter like the non-sports. I think those lower moldings on the door are 200 a piece FWIW.

Well you can always vinyl wrap the bright trim a similar color to the darker front grill and bumper trim. Cheaper than swapping trim I bet.

I have considered wrapping my trim if i swap to the sport bumper in the future. I am trying to wait for an aftermarket sport grill that fits an radar before going the OEM conversion route due to the cost. $2k is a lot of money to just gain a mesh grill in my opinion. Plus, I like my LED foglights.

What is the bumper part # for 2016 Genesis without Adaptive cruise sensor? Only has headlight washers. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I spoke to Albert Hwang on FB, and unfortunately he can't ship the bumper covers from S. Korea. So, we'll probably have to find another source...

Hello, I realize that this is a pretty old post, but I would love to covert my Genesis G80 front end to the "Sport" model front end. I have owned my G80 for nearly 4 years, it has 100K miles on it now (bought with 30K) but still runs and performs like a top. I have wondered for some time if the "Sport" front end could be retrofit, and I am now finally looking into it due to my current front end starting to show the road rash of driving 20K miles/year. The car is paid off and I am trying to decide on selling or putting a little money into it and keeping it for another 2-3 years. Of course, I will not do the conversion if it doesn't make monetary sense. My question is, will I need to purchase all the part #'s you listed (w/ exception to the emblem and bumper shock absorber) and how many of each is needed for the parts #'s that are for clips and such? My G80 does have adaptive cruise, front end sensors and headlight wash sprayers. BTW, Your G80 5.0 conversion to the "Sport" front end looks pretty sweet, nice upgrade! Any and all advice is much appreciated, thank you!

Hey there, thanks for the compliment.

To the best of my recollection, those are all the part numbers needed. I don't know how many of the clips are needed, but someone in the parts department at your dealership may be able to help you with it.

It may be harder to justify the cost now that our cars are over 100k miles. I can tell you my dealership didn't give me any addional value for the car when I had them give me a quote on a trade-in.

Appreciate the feedback. After further thought, I think I’m just going to keep it as is. The cost is pretty exponential for the age and mileage of the vehicle. Thanks again, take care.

Do the g80 headlights go swirl normally for the 15 model or would I have to get work so for the led

I know this is a old post, but i was just reposting for updates.

I have a 2015 hyundai Genesis, and I am looking to change out the front bumper to a 2017-2018 front bumper. I know someone posted here and did it years ago, but I was looking for anyone who has any updated information. I can find the parts, but I just want to make sure I have the correct bumper that will fit it.

Which front bumper fits the 2015 hyundai Genesis 3.8 G80, is it 2017 or 2018?

Thanks in advance
