Did you buy the Genesis for the warranty?

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80 Sport
I will have to admit that if my G80 only came with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty, it would not be in my garage right now. How much of a factor was the generous warranty in your purchase decision?
It worries me hearing of the less than stellar dealer support on here. My previous Infiniti’s never gave me any concern, you could be absolutely certain that they would handle any issue.
What is your experience with Genesis service? Good or bad....

Warranty was a comfort factor. It is a big factor as to why I no longer buy GM cars.

I've had 5 Hyundai/Genesis cars in the past 14 years with three different dealers. Only had a couple of small issues and they were taken care of promptly. I have no complaints with service.

The only service that matters is YOUR dealer. My experience has nothing to do with the good or bad others have experienced. Keep i mind, people unhappy are more likely to let others know too. I once read that people happy with a product or service tell four people but those unhappy will tell 10 of their experience.

Lots of folks here had Infiniti's... I had a G37 (fantastic car for 10 years) and still have a '16 QX50 that's never been in the shop (just maintenance).

But yes, the warranty was a big part of buying the G80. I sure hope I don't have to use it.

Yes, the warranty was a big factor along with the 100K+ miles of reliable driving I've received from my 2011 Azera.

Yes---buying a bi-turbo vehicle with a 100k mile warranty is a no-brainer!

Yes. That's how I could justify purchasing a high-quality luxury car, compared to needing to buy two MBs - one to drive while the other is in the shop.

But I wish the warranty guaranteed a comfortable, or even reasonable, dealership experience. Fifth Hyundai/third Genesis, and I'm getting too old and ornery to put up with this BS again.

Agree with all. Warranty played a big factor with Genesis. First turbo I’ve owned too. Hope I never need the warranty for I’m way too anal for my dealer to probably keep happy. I also had a G37S and loved that car. Only had that car in for warranty once for it was 99% trouble free.

Warranty was a factor for me. Not the top one, but still a factor. Although my dealership’s service hasn’t been as bad as some here have described, I don’t have the greatest confidence that, as a customer, I’m going to get the benefit of the doubt if/when I have a significant warranty claim.

Length of warranty won’t be as significant a factor in my next purchasing decision. How the dealership implements/executes, yes.

The warranty is doing what it's intended to do - lower the barrier to entry.

Dodge did the same thing on the power train since they had such a bad reputation.

Wasn't a critical factor for me but good security. Although, I trusted Hyundai more than most other companies. Hyundai is hungry and I hoped that would cause them to be customer focus. Been soso but I see positive tends, locally.

Of course, I thought Alfa was hungry too and that was a disaster....

Buy an Alpha Romeo if you like to work on cars. If you want a car to drive buy anything else. ;)

Was a ton of fun to drive. Best driving car I've ever had.

But did spend too much time in the shop.

Life experience has taught me buy/own Korean cars and eat Italian food, not vice versa. G80/Lasagna versus Kimchi/Alpha Romeo.
Owning a Alpha is like dating a supermodel. Great 10% of the time, but high cost/maintenance the other 90%.

If I had Jay Leno's garage it would have an Alpha Romeo in it. When the Alpha isn't running I'd have a choice of numerous other rides.
