  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

From what I’ve read it appears that most that have experienced it had the issue occur relatively early in ownership. I spoke to a guy today at my gym who just bought his 2023 GV70 a year ago and is now having the headlights on one side replaced under warranty. My car is a 2022 with 43k miles.

Is it wrong to assume if this issue hasn’t happened by now that I might be one of the lucky ones? If it’s going to happen I’d rather it be sooner while I still have some of the original warranty left. Any thoughts?

I have a 2022 GV70 Advanced sports model (not prestige) and the dealer replaced the passenger side headlight bucket after BOTH headlights developed condensation after driving in hard rain. The replaced DRL trim on the passenger side is now SILVER while the driver side is still originally black. He only had passenger side headlight bucket in stock and so I had to come back for the driver side 2 weeks later. When I went back 2 weeks later , the driver side was replaced but with the black trim (original trim color). So now I have 2 different color DRL trim. He did not have an good explanation for this and so now my passenger side DRL trim is silver while the driver side DRL trim is black or a very dark gray. Anyone with the 2022 GV70 advanced sport model with 3.5 have the silver or black LED Trim? It is subtle but I see it non stop. I would like opinions on how or should I get this replaced.

Perimeter of the lamp assembly itself, right? If so, then I don't know why they'd have multiple colors (all black on my 2.5T Sport Prestige). If they don't match, then someone obviously ordered the wrong part/assembly for you, and I would not hesitate to go back to your dealer and talk with the Service Manager/Parts Manager to get it fixed.

thanks for the reply. My 2022 original DRL perimeter trim is black or very dark gray. The first replaced headlight DRL trim (passenger) is now silver trim which admittedly looks pretty darn good. Today the 2nd headlight replacement DRL trim (driver) is black like the original so it sounds like the first replacement was not correct. I wonder what model it was supposed to replace? I think their strategy is to wear me down to the point hoping I just give up and accept their replacement, but, I just do not like the mismatch despite the subtlety.

The pics are a bit difficult to comprehend but the one on the right should be rotated clockwise and the area of concern will be at the bottom after the rotation. Hope that helps everyone identify who and what models these two headlights go with and can advise. Thanks.

Just had my passenger headlamp replaced 2 days ago under warranty. GV70 2022
30 k. Those headlamps are VERY expensive..

UR Right. They are approx. just under 3k each (based on the invoice I saw, the service mgr. said they bill Genesis so they may not be a Genesis part) but they did replace the headlights under warranty since my mileage was so low. I just wished they matched. And since they do not, I am curious as to what GV70 or 80 uses the silver trim. Again, I hate the mis-match but if anyone has to do this, check your parts carefully. Thanks for your reply
