  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anybody ever had an issue where the volume of the sound system doesn't seem like its producing like it used to? For some reason, it seems like mine has been doing this as of late. I checked all speakers and they are all working. Nothing sounds blown, just the volume seems a bit lower than what I remember when I bought it new.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Is your "surround" box check under your sound settings?

No... though I've noticed that each different input has its own sound level - DVD-A's are played at higher levels than say... my USB music.

For instance, my USB music is played at 15-20 vs my DVD-A at 25-30.

Just a thought.

If you're using an iPhone check the equalizer settings as I had this issue too.

Thanks all for the inputs. Surround is on. Yes, I realize the SQ changes dependent on source, and my EQ settings are off on my iPhone. :(

mine did this. Went to Full ENG mode on the NAVI/Stereo and did a reset of the amp. This fixed it.

Do a search for ENG MODE for instruction.

To follow up with this thread...

I have followed the instructions below, to no avail. I can access the ENG MODE, but the menu "To full ENG full mode" or anything resembling that is missing.

Thoughts? This is on a tech page equipped, 2009 genesis.

(instructions below)

Go to ENG menu (by pressing these buttons simultaneously: Disc/AUX, Navi/Menu, Back and the Volume Knob on the DVD player).

Go to the "Software Update" submenu and selet "To full ENG full mode". When you select it, it prompts for a key code.

If you have the old head unit with old NAV maps (2009 and 2010), first try entering ##0324#0704## as key code.

Did you try just 0324 for pin?

I am never prompted to enter a pin code. That's the part which is confusing me. :-/

Yea, that option isn't in that menu.. only update from USB, CD, and something else, none of which work.

Ok, you have the old DIS software. Try this:

- Press the INFO/PHONE button twice to enter the Phone Menu.
- Select Phone Book --> New Entry
- Select "1@" in the speller and then, "OK"
- Enter "##0324#0704##" and then "OK"

Now you should be in the Full Eng Mode menu.

So sorry to drag this thread up :) I've been away and haven't had time until a day or two ago to attempt this.

So, while creating a new phone book entry, I use the DIS wheel/knob to select 1@, but "OK" is greyed out. Only if I put something as the 'name of the entry' am I able to select OK.

I'm sure I'm missing something. Thoughts?

you select 1@ to change the characters from letters to numbers
after selecting 1@ input the code "##0324#0704##" and then "OK"

Also to get updated DIS software ask the dealer for TSB 12-BE-012. Once you have the updated DIS software the FULL ENG MENU should be available as an option.

Thanks! Worked like a charm, albeit without the FULL ENG Mode... Still need to have the system updated.
