Disable rear view mirrors from rotating down?

Hello. I would like to disable my rear view mirrors from rotating down when I put car in reverse gear....Is there a setting for this I have not yet discovered? Thanks Henry

Place the mirror selector in the middle position (not left or right). Works on the 2012

That worked ....just put mirror selector in the middle position and it disables the downward rotation of the mirrors when reverse gear selected. Thanks so much.....never needed that in my BMW either....just wears out the mirror motors

The drop down mirror feature is great for keeping wheels unscraped when backing near curbs. Use it intelligently in your bag of tricks. It's also nice to prevent running over kids and pets. Doh!
