Yesterday, as I was coming out of a parking lot the attendant gave me several dollars change. So I wouldn't hold up the people in line behind me I put the dollar bills on top of the ash tray and drove off. When I came to a stop sign the dollar bills slid under the dash from on top of the ash tray cover never to be seen again. I tried sliding a thin piece of plastic between the dash and the ash tray cover to to retrieve the bills to no avail. When I open the ash tray cover I can feel it hitting the bills.
I am pretty sure there is no way of retrieving the bills other than removing either the dash or the center console.
Just giving a heads up to everyone to take that two seconds not place any thin items on top of the ash tray door.
I now have figured out what that little cubby hole immediately above the ash tray is for.
