  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dissapointed?

To be fair however, the V8 is over 400 lbs. heavier. It is like having two extra adults in the car which is using some of those extra ponies.

400lbs heavier? I'd like to check on that.

3.8 V6 weighs around 400. give 3.8 two extra cylinders and you get a 5.0V8.

all the extra parts that come with extra cylinders pistins, rods, ect. will make V8 engine about 25% heavier which is 100lbs

Here you go George... The V8 has different suspension, bigger wheels and some other items that add weight besides the engine.

WEIGHT
3.8
Curb weight (lbs.) 4,138 (RWD) 4,295 (AWD)
5.0
Curb weight (lbs.) 4,541 (RWD)

What I find interesting was, after looking at several auto reviews in Korea, they all seemed be somewhat negative towards the new genesis. Whereas most reviews in the USA are praises. Even the lexicon audio, korean reviewers in korea are mostly critical towards it, even claiming that even stock bose stereo from other luxury brands such as Audi sounds better, with no instrumental measures of course.

I guess they must not know that it is nearly impossible to get such broad range of good reviews and praises from most reviewers around the world, except Korea. Perhaps grass is greener on the other side effect, thinking other countrys' cars are just better than their own production car.

I can't comment on the reviews, but the 2G Genesis seemed very well represented in the KDM. I stopped counting how many I saw in Seoul over a four day period (probably a hundred or more). Even the Hyundai execs I asked one-on-one confessed that the Genesis was their favorite car.
