  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve heard that the ECO Mode on the 2020 sonata reduces the A/C cooling capability, is this also applicable on the G70?

Yes. I have no idea how much difference it makes as I never use ECO mode. Saves little and makes performance sluggish

When Active ECO is activated:
• The acceleration response may be
slightly reduced as the accelerator
pedal is depressed moderately.
• The air conditioner performance
may be limited.
• The shift pattern of the automatic
transmission may change.
• The engine noise may get louder.
The above situations are normal
conditions when the Active ECO system
is activated to improve fuel efficiency

I use ECO everyday, when you are on the highway at a constant speed for a longish commute it makes a bit of a difference in MPG, I get 22.5 with the Sport 3.3T using ECO vs. 19.7 in normal and around 16 in sport. on the same commute.

I tested it by driving exclusively in each mode for 1 month on the same route, since my commute is consistent and I don't use this car for anything else my results are pretty accurate.

ECO mode doesn't work well in stop and go as it forces you to give it more pedal to get up to speed because of how trimmed back the throttle management is.

but if you are cruising, it makes a big difference. As for the AC, it cycles the compressor on and off more often than normal or sport, to me it doesn't seem to effect the cabin temps, but I seldom drive with my windows up so I am not the best one to comment on that, I like the sunroof and all windows open anytime I am in the car except when it is raining.
