does it matter '09 vs '11, if i plan on modding

first things first, new member here. currently own a gen coupe; planning on upgrading to gen sedan. i cant afford to get a 5.0 atm, although it would be easier if i just flew up to cali and bought one. my local dealers in hawaii rarely get used gen sedans and im trying to jump on it. they are '09 & '11, both with 4.6 v8. '09 doesnt appear to have the TECH that the '11 does. '09 msrp is about 6-8k less and both years have under 30k miles. and i dont want a 3.8, cause my coupe already has one.

i plan to do the typical vip mods, suspension, aggressive wheels and body kit (eventually). so the main question is the '11 worth paying for vs the '09 if i plan to mod this way?

i just want to hear what others have to say before i make my decision or not.
 
Personally, if you are going to Mod anyway, might as well get the 09. Unless, like you stated, the 11 just comes with the features that you would like.

So that would be my biggest decision. Are the feature differences enough to want one over the other?

If not, 09 it is for me.

I think the 2011 4.6 V8 may turn out to be more reliable than the 2009. 2009 was first year for the Tau 4.6 and some people had problems when the engine was started, turned off before warming up, and then started again. Some of the parts end up in wrong position in that situation, leading to violent shaking of the engine, and sometimes damage, when restarted. OTOH, the Tech Package also has its share of long-term reliability problems (audio system, etc).
