  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 Genesis with HID headlights. As far as I can tell my car does not have DRLs. However, I located this video with instructions on changing the DRLs in a 2013 Genesis. Were DRLs a later addition, post-2009?

I have 2011 4.6 and also don't have DRL. DRL feature, along with LED strip, was added on 2012-2014 models.

Too bad, because DRLs are a great feature. Are the 2012-14 headlight units plug and play replacements?

No. They changed the body slightly and they won't fit.

DRLs are mandatory in Canada, so any 2009-11 sold here would have had them.

Excellent point. So do Canadian units have a different headlight assembly, different headlight switch, or some other part? Whatever it is, is it plug and play for U.S. cars?

I understand you would need to get a controller - I don't think it is the actual headlights that need replacing. Here an example I found locally, but I'm sure there are similar on ebay or where ever and obviously some OEM Hyundai part. Anyone importing a car without DRLs from the US to Canada needs to convert.

Yep, I have them too, Canadian cars must all have
