Does this look normal for a new rotor

Recently I got a full set of rotors from Adams Rotors. I looked at one of the front rotors and it looked like it has a crack.

Is this normal for a new rotor to look this way.

It looks like the crack extends thru the internal fin? Looks like a poor casting took place there. I am not seeing how these are of the quality and attention to detail their website promises. How does one miss such a mistake? I would send them back and look elsewhere...the only thing they are offering is fancy milled patterns on the disks.

The only reason why I am posting this here is the person at Adam rotors is swearing up and down this is normal which I can't see how this is normal in the casting process. Took it to a local parts store and they stated also this is not normal. I am sending it back and getting a replacement. Box it came in says made in China.

Get a refund. That looks like junk. You are betting your life on the brakes so does that crack make you want to make that bet.

Chinese quality control is carried out by the consumer - in other words - none.

definitely would send them back and get some Brembo rotors..

Yeah, id definitely send that back. That casting looks like trash. Id stick to the names that have been in the game for quite some time like EBC, brembo, baer, etc. I know ebc has been at it since 78, baer since 86, and brembo since 61 and those companies make everything in house. Also, there isn't a lot of reviews on adams rotors, kind of far and few between and questions have arisen on other forums about the source of their blanks, serial numbers being ground off etc and adams kind of ran around the answer. Adams also states that they source blanks from all over the world and from diff companies. How exactly do you expect to have good quality control with that kind of business practice.

Unfortunately I've had some customer service experience like the one described in the link. He finally agreed to replace the rotor. Just hoping it comes in good condition.

The problem here - as noted much earlier - is Chinese products - not worth 2 cents.

Plumbing parts are even worse.

I do all my own service work - it's a routine thing.

I have been buying rotor/pads from maxbrakes for years. Get the elite series as they are G3500 grade iron.
