Don Garlits Museum, Ocala Florida

A good friend and I drove to Ocala today (in his 05 Jag XJR) to visit the
"Don Garlits Museum". I thought we were just going to see Drag Cars, and one of the buildings was loaded with that kind of car, but another room was filled with various Engines of all types. The building I enjoyed most was filled with old cars. I loved it. Fords from the 30's, 40's and 50's, plus other cars that were just great. We loved it. If we had time, we could have stayed there all day.

Cost is $15.00 or $13.00 for seniors.

Located at I-75, Exit 341. If you love cars, you won't be sorry.

If you are into Drag Racing and Drag Cars, the website is www.garlits.com where you will see a lot of drag cars on display.

I am not into drag cars, and when checking out his website, there are no photos of all the beautiful old street cars, from the 30's thru the 60's. Those old Ford flathead V8's from the 30's looked beautiful. I could just picture Bonnie and Clyde driving around in one of them. Also the late 40's Fords and Mercurys, that every kid back in the 50's wanted.

When I go back, it will not be to look at the drag cars, but rather, the street and road cars.
