  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Too funny-happened to me too. Rains here once a year. Washed the car-boom it rained the next day.

You should blame yourself, washing the car attracts rain!

Seriously tho, I check the weather forecast, which is kind of accurate here in TX, before I decide to wash. Of course, then a bird decides to take a dump on it. I guess there's no winning, eh?

I did check my phone...nothing about rain...it was just cloudy lol

you're right though....seems like washing a car is like a ritual to bring rain...and bird poops

Washing also brings snow, sleet, slush and salty road grime, all after you decide to put away your all-weather mats and ice scraper.

Yah, my wife's mad at me too - I washes her car too! :D

If you waxed your car with a high quality polymer wax, rain will bead and the water droplets fall right off it once you get moving. So I don't see what the problem is.

Now if you just washed your car and it rains, I can see how that is somewhat of bummer.

you're right! it did that! but you can still see a little bit of rain dirty spots in some parts...but yeah just hate the fact that things like these happen after a hard work out with my car...lol I'm glad i'm not the only one :P

Yeah, I am right there with ya! I can not remember the last time I have gotten an entire week after washing the car without rain. The wax does not bother me the most, the darn tire, trim, and window treatment that washes off at the first drop of rain.

Last two times I washed and detailed my car:

One, the fire department decided to open several hydrants on the only road I can use to get out of my neighborhood, and

Two, I drive past a medical center, and the dooshnozzle groundskeeper is blowing a winter's worth of dirt and salt, and crap from the grass onto the street and ONTO MY FRESHLY CLEANED CAR!

I beeped at him, called him obscenities, and of course, he thought *I* was the dooshnozzle.

I feel your pain.

hahaha that really sucks! I would have done the same at your position! :D:cool:

I am guessing that everyone in the thread above has a black Genesis.

Here in Memphis - it's not the rain - it's the layer of green pollen dust that coats your vehicle 5 min after washing...ugh

That happens to me also in the spring, but the rain washes it right off (if car still has some wax on it).

Yes! Who doesn't hate that? I usually try to wash my car only if the forecast is clear for at least the next 2 day:rolleyes:

On another topic...I've got the brand new Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax coming today! Supposed to rain on Saturday but sunny on Sunday. I've never used Optimum No Rinse before but from everything I've read and seen on Youtube it's supposed to be pretty awesome and quick car wash. Will report back once I give it a go.

Another black Genesis owner ;)

I try not to drive in the rain if I can help it, since that usually means a full wash, but if the car just sits in the rain, that rinses off dust and doesn't leave hard water spots. The pollen here is basically done. What I was doing daily or every other day when it was heavy was to rinse it off (not washing) with a filtered garden hose, then blow the beads off with a small leaf blower, then finish as needed with quick wax.
