  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all, I have a 2021 G70 3.3T. When locking the doors with the keyfob, the chime that the car makes to let you know it is locked is so quiet that in most areas I can't hear it. Even if I'm listening, just the ambient sounds in the city make it very difficult to hear. At night I can see the lights flash, but I really want a louder chime! I often lock from the house, and it's impossible to hear if the car locked.

Most cars sound the horn when you lock, so that you know it is locked. Does anyone know of a way to change the sound, or engage the horn?

I asked my dealer, but just got a shrug and they said that's the way it is (although I was talking with a valet driver who spoke to the tech, not the tech themselves).

Thank in advance for any assistance

Nope, that's the way it is.
If you can hear the door lock from your house I could maybe her it too. That would be annoying. They are reliable in locking though. For anything else you'd have to wire in a horn on the circuit somehow.

Thanks for the response... I was hoping there was a simple solution

You can make the mirrors fold when locked. And also you could check the app on your phone (or on your computer) that the car is locked. You can also just look at the lights when locking it. Why do you need to mess with the car to make a loud noise, when there are many other 'clues' the car locked?

I took my G70 in for oil service and after that service my lock beep was so quiet that I could barely hear it. Maybe it was a software update? I called Genesis and after 2 days they could not tell me how to adjust the volume of the beep. I like to hear the beep so as I am walking away I get audio confirmation that I remembered to lock it. Otherwise I have to walk back to the car to see that the mirrors are folded in. This is my 2nd G70 and 3rd Genesis.

Don't you have the Genesis app on your phone? Check through that instead.. And it should even send you a notification if your doors remained unlocked

Yes. I use the app. I just like to hear the beep to know that it is locked. That’s why it was designed like that. To give an audible confirmation.
