  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've searched and as far as I can determine this hasnt been answered?
Does the 2015 3.8 have the wiring for the aftermarket OEM illuminated door sill plates - so they can just be plugged in?

Sadly, no. Doesn’t make much sense, considering that the first gen had plug and play wiring. It took me 30 minutes to install my OEM LED sill plates on my ‘12 Premium Package 3.8. They look great!

The good news is that you can wire them yourself, or any auto shop can easily do it for you.

Don’t pout. Just get an auto/audio shop to do it for you. Don’t bother with rear LED sill plates. Just install the fronts.

My son in law installed mine on our 2016 Ultimate, and the do look really nice, though beware the tend to be rather difficult to see because of the interior lights will wash them out somewhat.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
You can but them with harness and that also comes with instructions and shows you step by step on how to remove all plastic covers and then how to wire up new plates. I installed mine on a lunch break at work. And yes, it is hard to see them lit up when your dome lights are on.

I found the instructions. If anyone needs it, let me know and I will take pics and share.

could you send me a copy of the instruction to install dor still plates
Thanks Larry

I don't have any wiring diagrams so won't be able to help you with this. I got mine with harness so I didn't really have to figure anything out. You can still tap into the same wires as in the instructions. You can run your own wire.

Thank you. That helps. Appreciate you as always.

You are welcome. If you want to connect them to the BCM like you would do with OEM harness, you would have to route the new cables to the passengers side glove compartment area where the BCM with 3 connectors is located. Then splice both + and - from both sills together so then you will only splice one + and one - into BCM:

And below you will find an info on which wires from BCM to tap into:
