  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys,

My genesis 5.0 has illuminated door sills but only on the front side (driver and passenger both) but not on both the doors on the back. The sills on the back door do not illuminate. Is this normal? I was under the impression that all 4 door sills are illuminated.

Remember, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't really out to get you.

The rear door sills don't illuminate.
There is a very easy solution that I use.

I never let anyone go in our out through the rear doors. I make them use the front doors and climb over the seats. That way, no one knows that they rear sills are not illuminated, and I save myself a lot of embarrassment and humiliation.

Corrected it for ya since you've got the V6 ;)

How do you know I didn't buy the illuminated door sills and install them? I don't know about the G2, but most of the Korean importers on ebay, etc sold them for the G1. The wiring is there, even on the V6.

The G1 Tech package vehicles came with front AND rear lighted sills.

I had a G1 3.8 with Premium and Tech and it never came with the door sills illuminated.

It was only on the V8. However, some members got the illuminated door sills from Korean import parts stores on eBay, etc, and installed them. Since even V6 G1 cars had the wiring in place, it was a simple install. There are older threads in this forum on that subject.

Yes Mark I did the mod on the front on my G1, just took out the stocks and put the new, wire harness was there, was a breeze to do it.

it's also weird to me that the rear door handles don't have the approach/puddle lights to match the front.

I was going to add the illuminated door sills on my G1, but my neighbor talked me out of it. I occasionally let him borrow my car to go shopping, and he says he needs to store stuff in that area. I am not sure what he was talking about, but he is from France.

That space is about the right size for a baguette.

You guys are apparently too young. Keep guessing.

Very much enjoyed this movie Mark....

Is the LED illumination white or bluish color?

And anybody who installed them yourself....can you see the LED bulb? If the color is more blue, perhaps I solder in a new bulb?
