  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i have beyma speakers that are 6.5''s was wondering if anyone knows the speaker size of the genesis sedan 12' r spec.

The next question you want to ask is what ohm they are.

Ran into this on my W211 E-Class and the HK sound system, used weird 2-ohm and 1.5-ohm speakers. Sizes were standardized and easily replaced, but very hard to find speakers in that ohm, which caused a lot of premature amp failures when people just started slapping in 4-ohm "high end" speakers.

I have seen the speaker specs for earlier Genesis models on the www.hmaservice.com website (no longer free, so I don't have access anymore) and they are unusual impendences (measured in ohms). And each one was different.

The Genesis audio system is specifically tuned for the interior of the car, and to match the head unit and amp with built-in cross-over and frequency response corrections (in addition to tone controls that an owner can use). It certainly appears that the OEM speakers are NOT general purpose speakers designed to be used with any head unit or amp, so not sure how the system would sound if replaced with standard 4 or 8 ohm speakers.
