  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

ouch, now more people are saying we're headed toward a double dip recession.

even more reason for people to buy the genesis instead of a German brand costing $20k more, don't you think? even if you can afford it, it's probably more prudent to avoid being flashy.

Quite possible nextcar, then again the world is supposed to end in 2012. So the soothsayers say...
Combine that with the increased solar flares late 2011 to 2012, I'd say enjoy what you got while you got it, cuz you never know.
Thanks to our current situation for the law makers grand standing infighting.

I suggest that you pick up a little book named "Spiritual Economics" by Eric Butterworth.

"This isn't a get rich quick book. Butterworth seeks to change our understanding of words, ideas, and concepts, while helping the reader to break free from fixed patterns of thought. In practicing his principles I find that I feel wealthy, prosperous and affluent no matter what the media has to say about the economy.

It's about changing your thinking about finances, health, relationships, all facets of prosperity. If you believe that changing your thinking will change your life; that we can control our thoughts, and by doing so improve our over all circumstances, you'll find this book extremely helpful. Eric Butterworth comes from a very spiritual, and yet very practical level. He challenges many ideas that you might have studied in other prosperity books." - Neal C. Reynolds

Thanks for the uplifting info glashub. :)

I have chosen not to participate in any recession.

Others may find it offensive, and with no place on this board.
Your mileage may vary.

Did you know the original meaning of the word "wealth" was "well being"? "Affluence" originally meant to be "open to the flow of ideas and creativity".

I didn’t until I read the book.

What images or ideas accompany those words now? Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous, for most, I bet.

But they are not the truth. The original meanings have been corrupted so that people think they are only wealthy when they have more money than they know what to do with.

So he's saying is a person can feel wealthy and affluent without money and the is the real value in life.

He also goes into how much of a recession is a result of people buying into a mindset of ideas and thoughts generated by the media. He cautions to choose the words you speak and think carefully.

Nothing spooky or weird there. Good sound advice imo.

I found this book when I was sitting in a cockroach ridden apartment as a result of losing everything material through a series of devastating events. As a result I was able to feel good about life even though I had no money at all. I felt wealthy because I was healthy, loved, and laughed a lot.

Today I am doing very well and expect to continue to do very well as a result of the pattern for perceiving described in this book.

Your choice but would ask you not to be contemptuous prior to investigation.

You might be able to get better mileage out of your day. I'm just sayin'....

My mileage is fine without your Xian claptrap. Though I'm glad you found your way out of the cockroaches and garbage.
Have you bought that Genesis yet, or are you here to evangelize while asking about " jittery rides"?

The head you lash out at me with is the same head lashing out at you through your internal monologue every day. I'm grateful your head isn't on my shoulders. Yes, I've lost everthing and gotten back up again. What about you? What have yu overcome? What value do you add to the world? What will people say when your gone?

Will they even know you're gone? Or will someone discover you slumped over in a dusty dark apartment after sending another vitriolic anonymous message? One atophied stinking hand on the mouse and the other on the keyboard.

I don't wish you and other hateful people ill. I'm just sayin'. :)

no, and he/she probably never will... Deeva, this guy, they're all the same. procrastination is the name of their game. in the end they won't be able to swallow they own a lowly "hyundai" and will pick up an audi, BMW, Infiniti, etc. so they can school "us" about how hyundai is "almost there" but not quite yet lol...

Actually BacktoHyndaibychoice is less anonymous than Glashub. At least he's filled out his "About Me" profile.

So...is there anything Butterworth can tell us here on this forum that will help with our Hyundai's?

I'm certainly "open to the flow of ideas and creativity" if it will help me take better care of my Genny, so that I won't have to be materialistic and buy another car. I'd like to be able to feel "wealthy" in my 10-year old, well maintained Genny.

I think there is some confusion going on. In order to have a double dip, we would have had to recover from the initial dip. If we are talking about the USA, we are a long way from any type of recovery.

The situation today is that individuals need to analyze their own situation and determine how the economy is within their personal/family sphere. We are exist within our individual "local economy" within a large recession.

The good news to me is that Hundai is providing us with some very economical options. I am going to buy a new car in the Sept/Oct time frame. I have owned Mercedes almost exclusively since 1975 and could still afford one if I choose.

But the Genesis seems to have narrowed the gap in terms of safety, reliability and appeal. MB still has a much superior handling package. The Genesis has the MB beat hands down in terms of price and the handling has been steadily improving since introduction of the Genny line. I can get the V8 Genny for about $15k less than the V6 E class.

I am new to the forum and am getting the impression that Genny owners are for the most part very happy with their cars. I like the style of the later offerings from Hundai and have a personal preference for rear wheel drive cars which limits my options. I enjoy reading the enthusiasm that owners here have for their cars and hope to join that group with a 2012 Genny sedan.

Problem is which one? All of the engine options have something to recommend it over the others. I like the education and analysis journey leading up to making the decision. :)
