  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So Ive been looking for braking upgrades because as many of you have probably experienced, this summers heat wasn't to light on us and im from Georgia and i drive a lot so temperatures were bound to rise as i drove around for awhile. I was going to buy a used set of brembos but after reading how the oem brakes are fairly similar the $600 ticket didn't seem worth it for a little better braking when its currently more than exceptional. Alas I decided to get drilled and slotted rotors and high grade ceramic pads. I did it on a budget and decided to see how the Callahan set would do. You can find the full set on ebay or Amazon for less about $220. It seemed to good to be true but I bit the bullet and ordered anyway. I've since put about 3k miles on them and yes I did the break in procedure and they have been amazing. It may be in my head but the response is so much better and instant. The only cons I had which was bound to come with a kit so cheap, 1) one of the rotors, the stud holes were to small so we had to machine them wider. 2)the rear brake pads were the wrong size. I ordered powerstops overnight and threw them on and they fit perfectly. Other than that the rotors do a superb job of cooling down and I haven't had any brake dust. My next upgrade would be steel brake lines.
