Drive Shaft warranty? 2014 R Spec - $2000 + to replace?

I just had my E brake fixed and the head mechanic sent me a photo of the drivetrain and the rubber Drive Shaft Coupler is $150 part but in the 2014 its not a separate part I'm being told? He mentioned and showed me its dry rotting and will fail at some point. I have included photos. Is this not the definition of Drivetrain Warranty that is covered up to 100K?
