Driver door handle gets stuck won't open from outside

Hello all.

Recently my drivers door handle has been getting stuck. I unlock my car and all doors will open except for the drivers door. I have to open it from the inside. When opening it from the inside the door handle is a little stiff then goes as normal and the door pops open.

Any one else had this issue? I read online to try spraying WD-40 into the door jam and see if it helps. Wanted to mention that here before I go spraying anything in my door.

Since purchasing my 2015, my drivers door lock has intermittently not functioned. It either won't lock with the fob/proximity button or unlock. I usually have to manually lock and unlock in several cycles before it starts working again. Seems to go months and then the problem returns. Two dealers have been unable to correct this issue permanently. The first replaced the key fob battery twice after it tested low voltage both times and most recently the door lock actuator was replaced. It did not resolve the issue.

Had this happen to me. It ended up being the actuator. Was replaced under warranty thankfully.

I have a 2016 G80. The driver's door handle will not work. I have to enter the vehicle from the front passenger side and open the door from the inside. It worked fine this morning and I have never experienced this issue before.

I also noticed the lock button above the door handle inside the car, does not move when I press the unlock or lock button on the key fob or interior buttons.

Same problem with driver door handle not opening from outside. All other locks and electronics function.

This happened with my 2016 3.8 as well. The door actuator went bad and I replaced it. Watch the available videos on YouTube. I am a Youtube mechanic and was able to do it myself. Youtube mechanic: someone who watches videos and does the work themself....not an expert or a mechanic. :>)
