  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm probably being way to picky, but for a luxury car (Genesis 4.6 Loaded) I'm disappointed in the creasing and condition of driver seats. There is much stretching of the leather that looks unsightly. I have called and written the Genesis Team and can get NOBODY to return my calls or letters. Does anyone have the same issue or am I just being to critical? The same conditions are not evident on passenger seat and my wife and I both use the passenger seat quite often. I noticed the stretching 24 hours after I bought the car. Please let me know your thoughts.

Noticed only on the driver's seat? And within a day of driving? And passenger seat occupied frequently too???? Sounds like a problem with a loose upholstery job to me.

I'm a sales rep, and am literally getting in and out of my Gen at least 20 times per day...and I'm a big lady (tall and ,well, hefty (in a feminine sort of way!!!), I might add). My driver and passenger seats, their leather and support are impeccable so far (4300 miles).

Take a few pics and take it in for a replacement seat!!!

have not noticed the stretching. what year is this genesis?

I have a 2009 3.8, and noticed the same problem with the seat leather stretching after only 800 miles, The dealer had me come in when the Area parts & Service rep was there, he looked at it and said, I should give it about 5,000 miles, bring ii in and they will have an upholstery shop tighten it up.
Hope it works out. for the record I weight 197. The passenger seat is fine so far after 2,300 miles.

Same, bunching in driver's seat but not anywhere else. Service manager said that it's because there's always me in the driver's seat. He sent photos to the area Hyundai rep, but it came back that they won't approve repair on the seat pan because that's how the soft leather will behave.

If anyone has luck locally or through the national team in getting this fixed, please post.

That doesn't look bad. Remember it is leather- it gives from posterior placement.
Like a well worn leather jacket, age = beauty. There will be creases and bunches- it is not a taught velour fabric.

I have the same gentle ripple in my driver's seat. It appeared early on and it doesn't seem to be increasing with time.

Very, very well said:D

Doesn't really explain why there's no sign of similar distortion on the passenger's seat pan--it looks exactly the same as the day I bought it. By and large, I have a passengers in the front seat who weight as much or more than I do most of the time.
