Driver rear door will not open

It will unlock, but not open from inside or outside. Confused since was working earlier today.

I had the same issue that happens to me on Thursday, it was working them stop. Same doors. I am taking it to service on Wednesday, and post any updates.

All door locks except the driver door did not work when I bought my used Genesis. Pulled the car batt cable for about an hr and they worked fine after that.

I’m having the same issue. 2015 Genesis, rear driver side door will not open from inside or outside. Tried unlocking and still won’t open. Took it to the dealership and they couldn’t get it open either. They couldn’t even get the door panel off to get the door open. They called Hyundai and they told them to break the door panel and the fix the problem. Problem is that then I have to pay for a new door panel($2K). Anyone had better luck with a solution?

Pulling & reinserting fuses is worth a shot too. A Genesis tech told me it can cure weird electrical problems on occasion....

My 2016 Genesis recently developed this same problem with the rear driver side door. The door worked one minute, then it didn't. Now it won't open from the inside or the outside. I've come across a lot of posts that mention this same problem that aren't just confined to the Genesis. Apparently, Hyundai has issued an extended warranty to cover door latch problem in the 2016 Elantra and 2016-2017 Tuscon.

There are many potential reasons why the Genesis wasn't included, but one main reason is likely that they haven't had enough complaints yet. It seems like this extended warranty should include the Genesis as well.

Rear Passenger Door won't open

Hey guys! The door lock operates, I can hear it click and I can see it move but the door does not release. I've tried using the inside door handle to open it - still no good. Has anyone heard of this? I've tried pushing, pulling, using the remote to open/close, use the manual lock to open/close...

I called Hyundai's consumer services number to register a formal complaint citing my door problem and the extended warranty issued for Elantra and Tuscon models. I strongly suggest that anyone who has the same issue does the same thing. The more people that call in the better the chances of the warranty being extended for the Genesis.
