  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 2011 4.8 Sedan about 6 months ago with 17K miles on it. Now has aprox 25k. It was a CPO from the Hyundai dealer. During some other service about 2 months ago I inquired about 2 very small spots in the driver seat that are showing some wear and tear and actually have separation (broken) between two different vent holes in the seat.

While I was in today, the service advisor said that normal wear and tear is not covered. I left a little confused because on a previous visit I am fairly certain that I was told since it was a CPO that something like that should be covered up to 36K miles.

I'd like to hear some other opinions on this.

Thanks

There is no doubt on my part that it is normal wear and tear, but the concerning part of my complaint is that it was first noticed with 20K miles on the car.

The picture makes the seat look more worn and dirtier than it really is. The service advisor did give me some sound advice that I will follow.....to routinely maintain the seat with a good conditioner.

Looks to me like it was pushed in by something maybe in a pocket or someone reaching across the seat and pressing a ring into the seat when they planted their hand on the seat. Another member on this forum punched a hole from a screwdriver left in his pocket.

I would take it to a different dealer if you have one near buy to get a second opinion. It will only get worse if you don't take care of it now.

While I understand your concern (and I would do the same as you're doing regarding going to the dealer), it isn't *that* bad. I could live with it.

Did the dealer give any recommendations on which conditioner?

I was expecting much worse based on your description. I probably wouldn't even have noticed unless I was examining my seat daily. I would say that's about normal for 20k on a daily driver that gets a lot of use.

mine has 135,000 and the seats are not worn looking at all.
