  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2011 4.6 - Car is 3 months old and getting issue where drivers seat does not return to programed position on cold startup. The seat slides forward automatically but will not get all the way forward where it is programmed to be. I have to hit the program memory seat postition #1 and it then moves forward 2 more inches to get in my correct position.

Anyone have experience on this issue/advise on fix? (I do not take the car out of park prematurely)

I have a 2012 v8 and have the same issue. I have found that if I interrupt the "easy out" feature when I turn off my car and open the door too soon my seat will not return as it should on start-up. It sometimes effects my steering wheel position too. I'm currently trying to see if I can replicate this consistently.

I had this on my 2010. There was a Technical Service Bulletin on it, and the dealer made the repair under warranty.

It affected the "memory" functions for the steering, seat, rear view mirror, etc.

Easy fix, I think it took them 1/2 an hour. The offered a loaner, but I said I'd wait.

Good luck!

Don't know if this is what's happening to you but, if you enter the vehicle, push the start button, and move car into any gear before seat has time to return to previous memory position, the seat will stop in that position. It will then be necessary to return the car to Park and select proper memory button. Again, I am not certain that this is what's happening to you all, but I have done it a number of times myself.

if you read his post it says he does not shift out of park prematurely.
