  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This issue just developed....when I turn on my ac, the passenger side gets cold immediately and the drivers side blows cool/warm. 2011 genesis sedan 3.8. Anyone else have this issue?

theres a module under your dash. either passinger side or middle behind the dic. The module controls a flap that allows the cold air to blow to the drivers side. I just had to fix this on a friends truck, fixed it also on my moms suv serveral yrs back. I cant remember the name of the module, but im 90 percent sure thats whats going on with your vehicle as well. I know its not much info, but it gives your an idea of what the problem is.

I believe its called a temp actuator

Thanks, I was just looking up this problem myself.

blend door actuator is most likely out or going out. that would be the part blkgen is talking about.

My 2010 4.6 has the same issue and there are few threads about the issue in this forum. The problem is the Drivers side Temperature control actuator.

Yes thank you so much! Instead of a costly trip to dealer, problem solved just like you said! No thanks to Goodyear, but thanks to Jiffylube!

It turned out that freon charge resolved the issue.
Here's my situation - 2018 G80 passenger AC blowing cool and driver side blowing warm not hot. Drivers side Temperature control actuator replaced during my first service visit. Even thought the problem was still there when I picked up my car. I decided to come back in a week to give it a second try. Second visit - freon was removed and new freon added back in. I asked and was told the freon level was a little low so they increased to the correct level. What I notice now is the passenger side is actually blowing COLDER air then before and the passenger side is equally blowing air as COLD as the passenger side. Dealership added dye just in case of a leak. They investigated for possible leak before I picked up my car and didn't see any indication of a leak. Time will tell if there's a leak but right now AC is working as expected. I'm a new owner of the Genesis G80 car and also a new customer to Courtesy Genesis of Tampa. So far I feel good about my experiences with both. Although this is a 2018 it only has 22K and I'm a little surprise that the freon level appears to have dropped down to a level that caused this symptom. I bought the 10yr/120K mile extended warranty for my CPO car.
Can't image what the charge would have been if I didn't have warranty. Hopefully this info will be helpful.
