  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2010 Genesis and already had the telescope steering wheel problem fixed by the dealer. A few months later and the DS seat does not always return to the preset position. It stays in the easy access position. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had memory seat problems.

Thanks

Mine only has this type of problem in cold weather, not in Florida or summer weather. What my seat does in cold weather, like when I'm in Penfield NY or Roswell NM, is that my seat does not go back to the easy access position, but stays in the preset position. I learned not to try to move it with the seat controls, as it may go forward, but will not go back. When that happens, you are stuck sitting with the seat waaaay forward. Once the interior of the car warms up, the device that controls it also warms up, and the seat then returns to the easy access position when shutting the ignition off. Strange.

Hyundai replaced the switch at the DS seat. There was a dead spot on the switch causing the problem. :)

One thing to watch out for... unlike my other cars, if you put the Genesis in gear before the seat and steering wheel have a chance to get to the final preset position, the seat and steering wheel will stop dead in their tracks! Also, that's where it will default to on the next start up, until you push your preset button again, or make other adjustments. (It always defaults to the position that the seat & wheel are in when you shut the engine off).
I've caught myself in bit of a hurry a few times putting the car in reverse before preset settings were reached. At first I thought there was a problem with the presets, untill I realized I was causing it. I hope that's what you're doing and you don't have to take the car in (again).
