  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Drove about 20 miles from dealer and car is durty already.

Got simonize protection thrown in, does anyone know if this helps
keep the car clean on black and sapphire blue cars?

What other products are you using?

On dark color cars I use a spray detailer wax like mothers after a wash to renew the shine and remove any water spots. Has always been the easy way for me. I also put lexol on leather as soon as I get a new car home. I have a 1996 GMC Suburban with leather and have used Lexol for 14 years on it and the leather still looks good. My GMC is dark green and the paint is in great shape using turtle wax and mothers showtime detailer. I use Gunk citris engine cleaner to remove tree sap, then wax the spot again. Congrats on your new Genesis. We love ours.

There is no treatment that will keep dark cars looking clean. Every smudge, fingerprint, raindrop, other assorted airborne road gook shows up like a sore thumb. I wash my Genesis (black) weekly, or more frequently if it rains, and use Meguair's spray detailer almost daily. Even so, there are plenty of days when it looks less than pristine.

As to dealer aftermarket paint treatments, the Car Talk guys on NPR were discussing this the other day. They said it's (all types) the best stuff a dealer could want to sell - it's invisible, and there's no way to tell if anything has actually been applied. .;)

Polish and wax it yourself - at least that way you'll know something has been applied.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Although it doesn't hurt to ask what others use, it ultimately comes down to how much time and effort are you willing to invest into keeping your vehicle clean. Everyone has a favorite and it's like tires, speakers, stereos, etc. It is really a personal favorite. I like Blackfire. I just bought some Rejex which I have not had time to use yet as it takes 12 hours to cure. And for detailing Bead X. My adult kids say I'm anal about my vehicles and I guess they are right, but when you invest that much of your money into something, you should keep it pretty and maintained.

Just past 200 miles, this car is %&^ing beautiful and cool, I LOVE it!!! :D :D

Also no need to re-badge, I say give credit where credit is due

Absolutely NOT ashamed to drive a Hyundai

I don't think you'll find anybody here who is "ashamed," but you'll find lots, like me, who don't think Hyundai's "lazy H" is a very attractive logo in its own right. It reminds me of the old Olds Aurora emblem, which was likewise unattractive.

I just like the wing emblems better. If the wings had hyundai on them that would be ok with me. The OEM wheel caps would look better in charcoal color with chrome H.
