  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had my car serviced , and on my way out noticed both side DRL not working . Since both sides were not working the Hyundai dealer said it could be some wiring .

Is there anything i can check on my side . Like any fuse or any setting . I just move the lights to Auto - and they should light up.
I have to get a appointment with the dealer again for the DRL Light issue , i was wondering if there is anything i can do in the mean time.

Do your front turn signals work? They're probably burnt out, common issue. DRL is the turn signal.

Just to be sure , this is the bulb that does not work . Both sides - i am surprised the bulb can burn on both sides ?
The turn signals work meaning - on the edge of rear view mirror and on the back lights.

I tried all sorts of combinations -

with headlights

Without headlights -

Yes, that's your turn signal/DRL combo bulb. The car runs both filaments at the same time, all the time, which burns them out super quick. A lot of people change to LED but it's hit and miss as to whether they will work with the car's wiring. (I think a CK-agnostic style LED will work)

Ok in that case i should try and replace the bulb on the left side - to validate its both bulbs that have been blown and maybe the wiring is intact.

It appears much easier on the left side due to space.

With how dark the bulb in the picture is, it's almost certainly blown.

Neither side is easy, but without taking the housings out it's easier to remove both air filter boxes.

Would there be a problem with Warranty if i ask the Hyundai dealer to put in LED instead of the normal bulbs ?
These are all the choices showing up on Autozone

The Sylvania LEDs are generally not bright enough to be used in that location (hence the "off road only" blurb on the front)

You'd have to ask the dealer if they would put something other than a 2357 in there. The Hyundai spec is for a PY28, a bulb that was never developed, so you should have some room for substitution.

I'm getting a set of these in amber today and will be testing them:

What boggles my mind is that Hyundai (2015/16) spent all the time and money to load the car with LED lights of every kind. Front lights, rear lights, license plate light, interior lights, but some guy somewhere in engineering said "Wellll folks, I think we've got enough on the LED side of things, just toss in some $2 yellow bulb up front for full time SAFETY DRL's oh and make sure they are also turn signals too....oh and while you're at it, make it nearly impossible for the owner of the car to replace the $2 bulbs every year that way we can guarantee they stop buy our service centers to pay what, let's say $95 labor to put $4 worth of bulbs in" PERFECT PLAN!

If only PY28 was made, it would have run more than a year.

Its confirmed by multiple folks on the website that this ZEVO LED bulb does not work on genesis due to reversed polarity with socket wiring issue .

the only option seems to me is to go with "longlife" bulb and hope it works for a while.

Yes on the $2 bulbs for DRL's - and beats me why they forgot the fog lights on the 2015 Genesis.

They may have wanted to make the V8 folks feel special;)

You can put the LED "reverse" polarity bulbs in but you will have to remove the connection pins in the plug and swap them. You can do this but it will take you a little time, not difficult but fairly easy. I used the Pilot Led Bulbs and they work great. There's several posts on this - if you cannot find it I'll post a link when I have time.

You can buy these too and have them installed (OEM fog lights) by an independent shop

Hold on a second....

Are you guys saying you have an LED strip around the outside of the lens as well as a normal DRL bulb???

Yes? That's just the parking light on these.

And the DRL bulbs are amber and function as turn signals too. Crazy I know.
