  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone provide a link to a discussion with instructions or a video showing how to drop the front bumper on a gen 2 with a 5.0 engine? Anytime I do a google search I get genesis coupe bumper drop videos or instructions only for gen 1 sedans. I can't find anything anywhere for a gen2 5.0 front bumper drop. I appreciate the help. I want to figure it out as I'm planning on replacing the HID bulbs with Osram night breakers and I'd also like to sand the bumper at some point and repaint.

Cancel. Sorry. I had a light bulb moment after posting this and found a video on a G80 bumper drop that would of course be the same on the gen1 as it is to the gen 2 hyundai. Link for anyone who finds this thread in their searching.

open the hood and theirs approx 4 screws that can be taken off with a hand wrench. under the wheel well theres 1 screw on both sides that you can screw off. once thats done simply pull it off. if you have headlight washers pull them out remove the caps washer caps with your hands and the washer will retract back in. if you have fog lights theres a harness on the driver that you can easily remove. and done. no frills easy removal

Nice. Thanks Sebastian4k. Yeah the video I found on the G80 made me realize how easy the bumper drop would be. I'm betting it'll save me the $250 in labor my dealership wants to charge me for install my HID's in labor.

Also for anyone who isn't sure about a 20+ minute video this is an excellent quality video showing you how to drop the bumper and remove the headlight assembly to have easy access for all bulb replacements. Enjoy.
