  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G90
Had a chance to drive a friends 2019 KIA K900 and it has my 2018 Genesis G90 ultimate beat all to H__L.
Maybe the new 2020 G90 will up it's game this much.
fit and finish was just as good as my G90.
Inside looks so much nicer
Like the seats better
Tech is way ahead of the G90
Rides just as nice as the G90
And $10,000.00 less.

2019 the new body for th K900, so the 2020 G90 will be the one to compare with.

Could you be a little bit more specific. How is the tech will head of the G90?

Thanks for the information. I was thinking of checking them out. Given your review I will avoid the showroom. There is no way I can justify a new car so I won't torture myself by driving one and lusting for it.

Not knocking the Kia K900. However, if you want to be able to wave to an occasionly fellow K900 driver, it's probably not going to happen unless you're at a dealer waiting for your K900 to be serviced. According to the attached graphic, it's been mostly DOWNHILL for the K900 since it debuted in 2015. That's probaby going to impact resale value as well, maybe even lower than Genesis.kia.jpg

A quick read on kia.com appears to show the K900 lists about 2K more than a tricked out G80. Size wise, it appears to be about half way bigger than a G80 compared to the G90. Length is a big thing for me. I couldn't park a K900 in our garage because of our garage freezer unless I had a signal person by the rear of the car. Right now, I have about 1.5" maybe by the garage door and about 4 inches in front from the freezer.

And it appears that the K900 is about $10k or more less than a G90. So, if a person is interested in a G90, they should check out the K900.

And I get enough "Who makes that car?" when friends or strangers see my G80. Probably a lot more "Who makes that car?" if I had a K900.

These numbers make me wonder how long Kia can keep the K900 in the U.S. market. Most dealers don't sell any so the support might be minimal. It would be a shame to see a good luxury car like this go away though.

I saw the K900 at NYIAS 2018 and walked away not impressed by the looks. For some reason the proportions looked a bit weird and those dual strip headlights were dizzying. I wish I could have seen the interior but its good to see Kia up the game and force Genesis to deliver more in 2020. Excited!

I just hate the Kia badge. Looks bad on a luxury car - it's very blah and pedestrian. I know they just filed a TM for a new badge but it's too pop-sci for a luxury car too:

If the Genesis G90 follows the lead of the K900 with digital dash and the updated infotainment, lane keep worked better for me than my G90. less side to side. It's the interior that impressed me.
The G90 has some extra features but not $10,000.00 worth for me. most of the K900's missing features I don't use anyway.
Will be worth it for others.
EdP doesn't hurt to look, would like to know what you think about it. Biggest problem is finding a dealership who has one.
If they had more where people could look at them, they might sell more. My friend had to order his to even get one.

There are a few not too far from me, but some other dealers have none. I see a couple around town at times. though.
My life situation has changed though so I don't know if that would be the "right" car now. Too soon to make big decisions.

isn't the Kia Cadenza like the G80 and the K900 like the G90?

kia does not have a direct competitor to the g80 , the cadenza is a hyundai azera.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

I was somewhat surprised to see that Cadenza sales have fallen as dramatically as they have. Only 75 were sold in July vs. 200 last year. Year to date sales are equally depressed.

All full-sized FWD car sales are down save for the Lexus ES. It's a dying market. Even the very excellent all-new Avalon is tracking to come in at 2017/2018 sales, which were down a whopping 32% compared to 2016 (and 2016 was down 20% compared to 2015). It's hilarious that you can get a brand new loaded Avalon in Canada for the same price out the door as a Camry XSE.

As for the K900, it's a nice car with better tech than the G90. The interior isn't drastically different (it's more stylized vs the G90 being more reserved). There area few things I dislike about it:

1. The infotainment screen looks tacked on. I know it lets them lower the dash compared to the G90, but it just doesn't look good.

2. I dislike the double tier day time running lamps and the KIA corporate grille.

Other than that, it's a great car. Shame it's not available to Canadians.

The K900 is kinda a tweener btwn the G80 and G90.

A big part of the K900 being a better value play is that it doesn't offer the luxury service amenities/maintenance that Genesis models get (worth about $7-8k).

2019 the new body for th K900, so the 2020 G90 will be the one to compare with.

It's a new body for the K900, but the same gen as the G90 (basically about half a gen behind); the next G90 being not that far away (on a new platform).

The face-lifted G90 brings the G90 on par w/ the K900 (if not a little better).

Still, the K900 is an incredible bargain.

You always need to give the actual sales numbers per month...for instance you say its a "dying "market...but there are still 2500-3000 Toyota Avalons sold every month in the United States...and even more Lexus ES models

Hyundai/Kia ..I am sure...would love to be selling this many sedans that sell in that price range

Toyota has proven yet again ..with the Lexus ES and LX, that they can rebadge a vehicle , add some extra trim , a little bit more warranty and a thousands to the price and sell more of them

The Genesis G90 numbers...while larger than these....have been falling by 40% a year and it too has never had a very good presence/ market share versus some sedans in the same price range

To your point though like the Kia K900 ..the Genesis G90 is going to be an incredible value as a 3 year old used car coming in from lease
