  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Drove a 2019 KIA K900 yesterday

Took another look at the car.
K900. Looks great except the rear end looks very old fashioned.
I would say traditional, rather like a Rolls. Works for me.

Visited Bill Bryan Kia in Leesburg FL today. Saw a white K9 (I mean K9000) in showroom. Did not pay much attention to it except it was
1. White.
2. Beautiful Brown interior.
3. 3.3Turbo, 8 speed transmission.
4. Shift by wire shifter knob snd
5. Paddle shifter.
6. MSRP $62xxx. Idiot Dealer has a bump up sticker showing $69xxx.

Yes, it does look stodgy. (I might go back and take a closer look at it but no way will I drive it. - may like it too much).
I was seriously considering this exact car (about 1.5 hours drive from our home) but my wife was strongly against white (she felt not appropriate for K900 size vehicle) and Sierra Brown interior (she perceived it as faux while I really liked it).
Interestingly, I got my previous car - 2011 Genesis 4.6 from Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg, which is right next to Bryan Kia and it had close to $5,000 dealer installed options sticker next to factory sticker (same ownership or sales practice?). Guess what - they got only $250 for it from me for all add ins in addition to $36,750 car price from Bank of America car buying services.
It is surely crazy what they hope to collect from you. Final price should be anywhere low to mid 50s.

Jenkins Hyundai Had that “Bump Up” sticker. I have/had two Sonatas. Purchased them both from Coastal Hyundai/Genesis in Melbourne FL. Saved a LOT of money. If in the area and you want a great price, only see or phone
John Lyons at Coastal. He is the only sales rep I’ve ever seen who has his own personal assistant.
Coastal Hyundai/Genesis is 105 miles from my home on Mt. Dora, but well worth the drive to see John.

So much for the K900. They don’t offer valet service and don’t offer a comparable car as a loaner.
Talked with dealer AND phoned KIA corporate. Told them both that Genesis (G90) does. (Gees, even that loser Lincoln offers it).

For the difference in price to a G90 you can hire a butler to take the car to the dealer and bring back an Avis rental. It all depends on your priorities.

Very true, but then, the K900 is downgraded to G80 status.

Also the impression I got on the phone was that not all KIA dealers are allowed to sell or service the K900.

Not all Kia dealers should be able to service the K900. It is a low volume seller and not everyone is trained. Just as some Hyundai dealers should not service Genesis if not properly trained. Dealer service has been a problem.

I don't understand your comment about downgrading to G80 status. They don't take any of the goodies out of it and it has a rather impressive list. Still a good deal but you do have to get it to the dealer for service a couple of times a year. Now I know a couple of people get upset if their loaner is not the same Genesis, but personally, I don't want one. I drive one 363 days of the year so I like to try something else just for the fun of it for the other two. At least the size of an Elantra, the Accent is too small for me. In Italy I've rented a Smart ForFour and it was fun for a couple of weeks.

We all have different priorities. You are welcome to pay for the G90 service. No matter, I really want a RR Wraith but I may have to live in it if I go that route.

It is accurate. Dealership must have "K900 authorized" designation. Lucky for me my nearest (Deland Kia) has it. So far 1+ month it was pure delight driving my new 2019 K900. Will see how it goes with service experience...
Talking about fancy cars. Be careful for you wish for. My neighbor and friend directly across the street has Flying Spur in his garage he bought new right around the time I got my Genesis back in 2011. Now he rarely drives it complaining that it attracts too much unwanted attention (not to mention recent house burglary). Fortunately he has also Quattroporte as his daily driver LOL

Ed have you spent any time in G90 ultimate?
That is what mine is, with all the problems( I got a lemon, don't judge all of them by mine)
I ordered a new car and I'm driving a Genesis G80 till it comes in Dec. 7 they tell me
There just is no comparison between the G80 and G90. G90 costs a lot more but if you
compare the ride , night and day, G90 rides so much better. I do like the G80 don't
get me wrong. Just if he can afford it G90 is the way to go

Check out the G70 it is smaller and nice . Even the 2.0 is cool. We take the Grandchildren
so the G90 is nice for that, much more room and lots of stuff to play with in back seat.
If it was just me and the wife we would have purchased the G80.
I try not to use the pickup and leave me a car, As I like to look around at all the new cars

I understand the G90 is better in many ways than the G80. I just don't understand the comment about no concierge service for a K900 downgrades it to a G80. I've seen the K900 in person as there is one around here, but never sat in it let alone drive it. My impression though, it is closer to a G90 than a G80 with features and technology but for less money. And you have to pay for oil changes. If on a weighted 1 to 10 scale, if a G80 i s a 1 and a G90 is a 10, the K900 comes in around an 8 or so. That is my impression but could be wrong.

Yes. You are correct.

Mia Culpa. Sorry.

I've been looking at G90's and comparing them to the K900 I looked at and the K900's I've seen on dealers websites. I hate to say it but I like the 2019 K900 better. It also costs less. Depreciation for both of them is in the toilet though.

Checked out Deland Kia’s website yesterday. No K900’s in stock.
I may check out my finances, and if it looks good, MAY try to use Bill Bryan Kia’s “internet sales” telling them that;

1. It is a 2019 and we are almost into 2020. I can just wait for the 2020’s.
2. Car loses value fast.
3. You can stop paying your high floor plan each month.
4. See what he will give me in trade in on either of my present Cars.
5. Can wait until they hit the used car market.

Of course, my wife has to agree.

The last line; very important part of the decision. Be sure to add the cost of roses and dinner out to the cost of the new car budget. Could be the key to success! Wow! Almost like dating again! (G)

I think it's a more subjective or personal preference in regards to one over the other. My thoughts are that the G90's somewhat composite and familiar luxury design is far more impressive looking/handsome than the K900's more familiar 4 door coupe (my characterization only). common design language. I think the interior is more impressive as well. I haven't driven the Kia, so I can't comment on the ride, comfort, ergonomics, space etc. I believe you will experience an *even* worse depreciation though than that of the Genesis. But I bet it's pretty comfortable - so if you are really into that exterior look and a few missing features don't bother you (there will always be something you feel it should have had) - then go for it! Having said that, I purchase, rather than lease - so I need to be both more sure and more happy with what I pick for myself Haha! :) If you lease and make a mistake or don't love your car, it's less of a big deal.
