They got delivered yesterday.
Now to find time to get them installed.

Well that was short lived.

The 17159s are too long to fit. If they made a 2.5" muffler with a center/offset configuration it might have been easier but the Magnaflow cans are quite a bit smaller.

Oh well. Thinking about selling the Magnaflows now. Less than 1,000 miles on them (car only has 2,600 miles on it)

Anyone interested?

NSX, Have you read my post from way back about the VT's I was going to order? Not sure if this will help you find your size, but my information was accurate at the time, and I doubt any part numbers have changed.

Yeah I did look. The Rspec has to have an offset outlet pipe and there is only one one model that had a 2.5" offset outlet. I think I'm done looking.

I'm getting a little confused with all these part numbers for the VT's.
It sounds like the 17159's are to long.
And maybe the offsets for the other models might no work.
I just want to swap out my stockers for new VT's.
What if any model will work for me, 17733 or 17155's?

Yes, I really like the way they sound. Basically, here's my take:

At idle
Stock: Virtually silent
Dynomax VT: Subtle low rumble

Mild throttle
Stock: Louder than idle but not much
Dynomax VT: Muscular vrooom sound but not so much that you sound like some 5.0 mustang with Flowmasters. Again, it's subtle but noticeable.

Heavy throttle
Stock: Nothing spectacular. A little bit of a purr.
Dynomax VT: The best way I can describe it is the sound you hear the last time I goose the throttle in that video... You hear this rrrrRRRRRRR sound which is just fantastic.

My goal with this exhaust choice: Giving my V8 a voice while still maintaining the quiet comfort I was looking for when I'm just cruising down the road or freeway. This exhaust will NOT make your Genesis sound like a muscle car as you roll by so if that's what you are looking for you'll be better off going with Borla, Magnaflow, or Flowmaster.

By the way, if you're referring to the little growl a stock G37 makes when it takes off, this is louder than that and the note is much lower pitched (thanks V8!).

socaljay...i just ordered the dynomax vt's for my r spec 5.0 thanks to your great write-up and experience with them. i think i will like the results as i am not looking for the heavier borla, magnaflow and flowmaster sound.

From the Dynomax website it looks like 17962's would be the ones for the R-Spec. (3" in and out, both centered, 14" length of the body).
The 17155's looks offset. I want to be absolutely sure before I order!

17962's are hung on mine. You're milage may vary.

I'm going with the 17155's. I can't see putting on a muffler with 3'' in (centered) and out on a 2.25" OEM system. Plus the off- set of the 17155's would more closely match the placement of the original muffler.
They should be here Friday.

NO DRONE! Got them installed today. I immediately took it up to 60mph on the expressway. It's basically stock.
Around town, modulating the throttle, you can hear a difference but it is not irritating. When you give it full throttle.... that's when you hear the difference

Basically I would say this is a very safe (conservative ) exhaust upgrade. At the very least you will save 60% in weight over the stock cans. The OEM's are very heavy.
P.S.These are the 17155's (offset inlet, 2.25 diam. )

Thank you for sharing the pictures. They are very helpful. Can you also share a few pics of the tip/muffler area from under the car? I'm curious how you aligned the center out muffler with the tips built into the bumper cover.
