Easiest color to keep looking clean

Hey all,

About to get my first Genesis Coupe 2.0T (not the fastest, but my parents are helping to pay for the car, so I have to keep their wishes in mind as well).

I am having trouble deciding on which color I should get. Black looks sleek when its clean, but it gets dirty fast. I read the post in the Modifications forum about cleaning your coupe everyday, and I really don't think I can keep up with that.

That being said, which color do you think is the easiest to keep looking clean and good without constant cleaning?

Silver, Yellow or white.

I think our light blue hides dirt well too..........not that that much is allowed to build up. IMO, silver gray or light blue would be best at staying clean looking longest.

Silver. By far. Unless you drive through mud puddles, you can leave it unwashed for a week and it doesn't look dirty. Besides, I think it's the best looking color, especially for this car.

Agree. I've had two silver cars and when they were older and I was less inclined to wash them, they'd look reasonable for a couple of weeks at least. The downside was that this made it harder to tell that I had washed them.

We have 2 silver cars now...and yes..they are easy..But I do believe my Yellow GTO was the easiest thus far........

I wanted the silver w/ saddle but at the time I bought it, there were none available and I settled for the black....let me tell you, even though it looks magnificent when clean (I have no garage) its a nightmare to keep it clean.. I'm further cursed because I love this F***ing car and I HAVE TO KEEP IT CLEAN!!!!

I've got a red 2011 genesis rspec.. and I'd say that red even with some water spots and bird poopz it has looked nice. i'd say 7/10 dirty 10/10 clean.

Lighter colors tend to look better longer. A good wax job at least once a year will keep a lot of dirt from sticking to your car.

Silver is the best and you can go weeks without washing and it will be least apparent compared to any other colors.

Black is pretty bad, in particular if winter means snow where you live.

White is horrible in the summer on the highway. One 100 miles drive on the highway and your white car is covered with yellow, black, red and green dead bugs all over the front end. And if you don't wash them off after your drive, the sun will cook the bugs and it will be 10 times harder to remove them next time you wash your car.

The difficult decision when buying a car is whether buying the color you like the most, or the color which is most practical. I have owned a dozen cars and silver is most practical.

Though I agree, black is more beautiful, classy, but not practical if you care about keeping it clean.

My name is Rui, and I approve JustMe's message.

Every bit of it is exactly how I feel... the Titanium will be easier to keep clean say, 5 years down the road, whereas the Black will turn more heads when clean. You'll be hating that black in 10 years though, when your warranty is up. LOL

NO Black. Other dark colors are almost as bad. Lighter colors show fewer scratches, water spots and streaks.

Yeah, Blue is almost as bad as Black with the chips and scratches.

to the comment about bugs:

just wax your front end and keep a microfiber handy with turtlewax ice spray detailer (well, that's what I use and it's awesome imo). In Northern Ohio around this time we have lots of may flies and canadian soldiers, especially by the lake. I deal with this crap every year.

And my red coupe seems to always look decent. I'm really anal about my cars paint so I'm probably being too harsh.

I agree. A good detail wax on at least the front of the car after every wash will help keep bugs from sticking to paint.
