Ebay intake?

Has anyone seen or bought this 3.8l intake from ebay? Would anyone trust it? They make a full cold air intake and a shirt ram. Im wondering whats best for my car up here in canada, the short ram or cold air with the cold Canadian winters.

Honestly that's a huge rip-off. It's just a red (probably silicone) elbow and a K&N cone filter slapped onto the stock piping to replace the air box. You could easily (and I mean with little or no knowledge type of easy) build that yourself for half the cost.

Just unbolt and remove the stock air box assembly, buy 3.5" 90 degree silicone elbow (siliconeintakes.com) and also a 4" K&N universal clamp-on cone. Ta-da, you're all set. Wouldn't be more than $60 American.

Regardless he sells a short ram where the k&n filter sits above the oem air duct and a cold air that goes all the way down. Which do ppl reccomend?

IMO, a cold air intake is always going to be superior because it draws denser air than any solution that sits under the hood. A close second place would be a SRI with a well designed heat-shield.

I've tried every way possible on my 2012 to build a CAI and there's just not enough room with all of the hoses in the way. I've opted for a heat-shield around a aluminum piped SRI.

Out of curiosity, could you post the link to the CAI?

I just dont know how low the cold air intake goes on the genesis. I worry about the winter time woth puddles etc

Based on what I've seen when I looked under the vehicle the CAI would have to go into the wheel well area and it does get wet there. However, you're fine as long as you're not driving through puddles that submerge the entire filter. If you are, then a bypass valve/filter would be the ticket.
