  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

About a month ago I picked up a 2014 Genesis R-Spec.

When I first was exploring the on-board system, I thought I saw an option for turning off Eco Mode (or just display) but can't seem to find it. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Also, I thought I remember seeing an Eco report, showing how economical your driving has been over a period of time. Perhaps this was on a rental car I recently drove and I'm getting it confused. Has anybody seen this?

My car didn't come with owners manuals, so I'm fumbling through the system.

Thanks for the help!

MrBrady,

Hey there!

I also had that question when I first got the car. From what I remember, if you hit the Display button on your steering wheel until it gets to the Eco leaf, you can turn it off on there so it won't keep popping up depending on your driving conditions. For the fuel economy over a period of time, if you go to your main screen (navi menu) and hit BlueLink and then go to Eco-Driving it should show you!

Thanks. I'll try it out on my commute home this evening.

I do remember seeing something about the Eco Driving in the BlueLink menu, but it was greyed out. I'm assuming I can't access that feature because I don't have a BlueLink subscription?

EDIT: Wow, the forums automatically link keywords to Ebay and Amazon? That's a bit unnerving considering that's not even what I was talking about.

Yes. Click through display till the leaf appears. Then hold display for a few seconds and it will turn off. Repeat to turn back on.

It's just a light that lets you know you're not having fun.

When on it quick shifts to higher gears to save fuel. When off it holds lower gears longer for better response.

Nope - Not on the Genesis. Only thing it is doing is showing you a light that says ECO. Nothing but a stupid "idiot" light..... I turned my off because to me it is just annoying with no benefit whatsoever.

Thanks for the responses, everybody!

I'll test the eco mode off later today.

I was able to get into the Eco Stats through BlueLink. Don't really see it being useful, except for road trips. But good to know it's there!
