  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Im getting check a ecs light on my dashboard. error code in ecs is c1284. My scanner wont tell me any more information. I need some help on finding this if anyone works for a Hyundai dealer and can get some info that would be great.

Already tried to order the ecs cancellation from BTR. Which did not shut the light off. This leads me to believe it may be another component within the ECS system.

Ok, just for clarity, do you have a 2015 5.0 Genesis ultimate?

Yes. Whoops thought i added that info. Yes 2015 genesis sedan 5.0 ulimate.

Splendid, For what’s worth in the past I used ‘Blue Driver’ scanner tool to be able to accurately diagnose the issue I had with the Isuzu hydraulic suspension, so it might also be a useful tool this situation.
Just my two cents as YMMV...

I have a snap on scanner at work. However its giving me a generic code through the ECS module. It wasn't anything specific. I saw the code online as an acceleration sensor. However there were only two sensors i found that came close. Theyre G Sensors (there are two of them, that i can find) on our vehicles. not sure if it'll fix the problem or not however. dont want to just throw parts at this thing.

Well either throw parts at it such as the sensors or take to the dealership for a more specific cause of the problem.

I see you are registered member based on Atlanta. My 2015 Hyundai Genesis Ultimate stalled and won't start, nor will the engine torn over. This occurred after having the erratic low speed shifting became erratic revving, even while while stationary, brake depressed. Any chance you have a scan tool I can borrow, or that you're willing to meet to run a diagnostic together?

The dealer estimated a two week wait period. I use this vehicle as an asset. It is a work vehicle.

Run to autozone and rent a scan tool?

I only have the one scan tool, however scan tools only cost about $10-$20 or a chain parts store can scan your car for free.

I would help you trouble shoot your engine, but I am leery of working on anyone else car I do not know in general. Plus, I barely have enough time to take care of my own household cars let alone have time for a stranger's car.

In that case, can you please help me order this part 😩😩😩

I thought it would be as simple as calling the parts department and giving them the part number that’s on the “wheel g sensor” but every dealership tells me that number doesn’t exist.
I think the front wheel sensor is part of the wheel bearing hub assembly; therefore not a separate part that can be ordered on its own.

Here is a Moog replacement front hub with the sensor.

That’s what I thought too! After I replaced the abs speed sensor and that didn’t make it go away I replaced the hub with the plug built in to the back and that wasn’t it either. It’s the part in the pictures. The “wheel g sensor” which is a little black box bolted to the bottom of the strut but removable with connectors on both ends. As opposed to ANOTHER sensor which is permanently fixed to the bottom of the strut in which case I would’ve needed the entire strut but that one isn’t it.
