  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Edmunds Explains Removal Of GV80 Features

I wanted to give your post a “Like” but I didn’t want forum members to think that I “Like” that the 2023s will not have HDA II :)

Just saw this today on a Genesis search. They are now labeling them without HDA 2. Click on the window sticker to see pricing.

Was that salesman in Canada or the US that said the chip is supposed to be available in March?

The HDA II upgrade over HDA is worth way more than $200. It's basically a stealth price increase. Also crappy to do it in the middle of the model year which will make figuring out whether a used 2022 has HDA or HDA II a pain.

He gets it.

He gets it.
Was speaking with a GENESIS rep yesterday (Canada) and he told me the new gv80 will have HDA 1 and not just the HDA so the only thing we would be losing is the change lane assist, everything else would stay the same. Reason is chip shortage and rather than have customers have to wait a longer period of time they deleted the lane change assist. He said ( upon customer reviews) that was the feature used the least. Makes sense.

It's more than that though. It's:

*Features Not Included:

Highway Driving Assist replaces Highway Driving As sist II and does not include Highway Lane Change Assist

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist does not includea Lane-Change Oncoming, Lane-Change Side, Junction Crossing, and Evasive Steering Assist

The gentleman I was speaking with (Genesis Experience Manager), said, in Canada, the new gv80 will have
HDA 1 which offers a little more than the HDA. He also said the vehicles coming to Canada offer some different features than the US. SOME better for Canada, some better for US. These differences are minor ones such as vehicle colors, some digital items, etc. He assured me if something walked out in front of the car it would break to avoid collision. That interested me more than having the vehicle change lanes as we have a ton of deer here.

Just took delivery yesterday 2022 GV80 3.5 Advance. Not sure of build date but it just arrived to dealer on 3/3/2022. Window sticker shows that HDA ll is installed. Guess we got lucky.

I was wondering why the window sticker for a prestige model had a list of non included items yesterday. Screw that if I'm dropping 75k I want every feature. What a setback.
I am dropping 2.5T prestige model also. Not worth if not all features.

I'm also annoyed that Genesis seems to be prioritizing the GV70s on this issue. All of the incoming GV80 3.5s already have the features removed, while the incoming GV70 3.5s still have the HDA II.

Hopefully, Hyundai has included a stockpile of these parts for existing customs if something fails on units already on the road.

Thank you for the article. I have a 2023 Genesis gv80 3.5t Prestige on order. I was wondering if the terrible situation with Russia was going to have an impact on vehicles. This article touched on it.
Even the Porsche Taycan (their most popular model) went out of production until further notice because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Another article on this topic

This takes the urgency out of buying a G80 sport for now. I think I will wait. Nothing like forking out a heck of a lot of money for something that is less than advertised. Those features are worth more than the $200 discount.
