Electric GV70

One question I've been meaning to get some feedback on is whether i should trade in my GV70 3.5T or trade in the GV80 when the electric GV70 arrives.

My current GV70 has HDA2, while my newer GV80 does not! Crazy world we've been living in, I guess. I do like the more spacious cabin in the GV80, but it's clearly more of a gas guzzler than the GV70 is. Having said that, I did get rid of another GV70 when I purchased the GV80 so it feels like a serious case of deja vu if I end up with two GV70s again!

My wife is a little apprehensive about driving the GV80, but very comfortable driving the GV70.

Decisions decisions.

I don’t know, my local Genesis dealer moved a lot of fully loaded ~$65k+ GV70 3.5T’s last year. And the GV70 electric would smoke that car in a straight line. The fact that it doesn’t scream EV might be a problem. People seem to want to advertise their green credibility. That said, I see plenty of Volvo XC40 Recharges and the new BMW i4 around here that are virtually indistinguishable from the gas versions so it clearly doesn’t bother everybody.

I actually like that it looks basically identical to the ICE version. Teslas and other EV's are a dime a dozen around here so there's not really any EV cred to be gained. I test drove the GV60 as well and man that interior looks weird. I just want a normal looking car and to never have to go to the gas station ever again.

You come to a random, branded car forum, and your first post can be paraphrased as:

“Hi, I want one of these cars, but it’s too expensive and not as good as these other nice expensive cars, the brand is kinda iffy, the dealers suck, and it’s not as cool as (fill in the blank with cheaper, non-competitive product). These cars aren’t gonna sell.”

It’s about the biggest pile of passive-aggressive bullsh*t I’ve ever read.

It's "ON THE BOAT". My sales rep called yesterday to say my GV70e has been shipped. It should be here within the next few weeks.

I think that I'd avoid Ge to avoid confusion with GE.

Being that you are in the Vancouver area, won't you have the electric vehicle HOV sticker so that you can drive in the HOV lane with just one person in the vehicle?

So I guess it:

1: wasn’t too expensive
2: is cool enough, even compared to more expensive cars
3: didn’t have ADM
4: offered at least a decent dealership experience
5: is maybe gonna sell okay…you bought one after all…
