Electrify Canada has very limited coverage in Canada. I suspect that is the reason we don’t get free charging here. Also, at the moment the EGV70 is only available for purchase in a limited number of states (15?). 74k USD (Prestige price Stateside) is ~100k CAD at current exchange rates (and we paid 84) so I think we’re getting a pretty good deal. We also have more colours available to us. We are also not subject to dealer “market price adjustments.” I’m fine with not getting free floor mats. Our USA counterparts are also getting some free charging and other perks...I did ask reason about this, got no reply from Dealer. Not sure the Dealers here are committed to EV, or they just don't have much to offer, so they focus on the ICE versions. With the current price reductions by Tesla, Ford...etc, not sure I still want to pay the extra $20 grand for the EV version of the GV70....guess I will cross that bridge once they say my car is on the way.
I get free charging at the Hyundai head office in Markham. There's a Genesis dealer about 5 minutes from my home, they only have nothing to there, have not checked to see if the charging is free.Electrify Canada has very limited coverage in Canada. I called my Genesis dealer in Minnesota to inquire about Genesis branded all weather mats. They told they are not availableyet. They recommended Weather Tech instead.Just wonder why.
I ordered mine around that time...yet have heard nothing back from Langley BC dealership....but I also heard that every dealer has a different list depending on ???? allocation to each dealer. How much notice did they give you that it was produced and on it's way?My GV70e arrived at dealership in Vancouver on Thursday. Mauna Red / Glacier White, looks great on the video they sent me. I had ordered April 9. It had been held up by the port strike. It must have cleared through the port on the one day they went back to work, before they went on strike again. I'm going through pre-delivery stuff now, hopefully will be driving it in a few days. One issue is they don't yet have the trailer hitch in stock for the EV. It's a different part # than the hitch for the ICE model. Has anyone found the Genesis EV hitch elsewhere, or an aftermarket substitute?
I was texting my contact (“Genesis Experience Manager”) every few weeks asking for an update. They were pretty responsive and gave me vague updates, like “coming off the line”, “on boat”. Your dealer should be able to tell you if it’s left the factory at least.I ordered mine around that time...yet have heard nothing back from Langley BC dealership....but I also heard that every dealer has a different list depending on ???? allocation to each dealer. It will be interesting to see if it will be considered a 2023 or 2024Yes! I have a VIN for the new car.

I ordered my GV70e about Feb 21 (the first day they were available for order), also from Genesis Langley. It was built in March according to the door sticker and shipped April 5. Because of the port being very busy (before the strike) it was delayed a bit but arrived at the dealer about June 2 and we took delivery June 6.I ordered mine around that time...yet have heard nothing back from Langley BC dealership....but I also heard that every dealer has a different list depending on ???? allocation to each dealer. Yeah I've been incredibly lucky this whole time. Really looking forward to getting the matte gray colour. The GV90 is also something I'm keen to learn more about. It's truly amazing how you can order and buy like five GV70/80s and get them before most can even get their first car.![]()
It's 100% going to be a 2023, at least that's what I'm being told.it will be interesting to see if its going to be a 2023 or 2024.
Congrats, the glacier white on matte gray looks spectacular, you'll have the same combo I have!Yes! I have a VIN for the new car.
The car starting to creep when you lift off the brake probably relates to the regen level you're on.Congrats, the glacier white on matte gray looks spectacular, you'll have the same combo I have!
I got a fix for the remote starter that stopped working from the app, had to call Genesis Connected Services to find out a newbie had not updated my support ticket properly, and that's why it ended up in limbo. No biggie, it works again.
Something weird though, when I got the car, setting it in Drive or Reverse, it wouldn't move until I'd press the go pedal. Now, it starts moving right away, the same way an ICE car does. I didn't take the time to dig through the zillion menu options to see if it's something I can have any control over yet...
For the first time this week-end I'm taking the car further than its maximum range with a trip to Québec city (The two-way trip is longer than a full battery will allow for). Midway in Trois-Rivières I added some juice at a 180KW charger, 67% to 80% in 6 minutes is not bad at all! Not having to put up with the drone of an ICE engine for almost 3h makes for a very relaxed ride, this is by far the best highway cruiser I ever had!![]()
I'm less a fan of the GV80's exterior and interior styling (Some colors fit it better than others though), however I can't deny the practicality of its size advantage for passengers and cargo. I'm a big fan of the GV80 Coupe concept's looks though (Not its orange color, but that shape in any other color would look great), just wondering if they will make an EV version of this one or skip that until the next redesign... Somehow the coupe's front-end is a bit more rounded and makes it look like a GV70 on steroids. The car starting to creep when you lift off the brake probably relates to the regen level you're on.
Dealer called today saying they expect the car to arrive early next week. I'm going to miss the GV80,.
The GV80 coupe is getting the twin turbo V6 with electric supercharger from the G90, apparently, good for about 405 hp. And out of the current Genesis lineup, the GV80 is the last model that will become completely electric, according to the GM at my dealership.I'm less a fan of the GV80's exterior and interior styling (Some colors fit it better than others though), however I can't deny the practicality of its size advantage for passengers and cargo.
