Electric Rack and Pinion Help

Greetings everyone, it's been a while since I visited and as always I need your help.

It's been raining a lot more around where I am and it appears that water leaked into the rack and pinion system of my car and it's been damaged horribly. What's even worse, this happened before and this is the 2nd time I come across this problem and I no longer have the dollars to chill for a new (or used) steering system.

I've disassembled most of the R&P and completely removed all the rust I found with a bench grinder and got stuck with the motor itself and the gear it's connected with. I can clearly see brown discolorations from rust and dirt poking out of it but I can't get it opened to clean thoroughly like the rest.
Anybody here with experience managed to do something like this got any tips on how to get this done?

I'm currently at work and have few photos on my phone at the moment so it'll take me a while to provide fresh pics as needed.

I would just try to find a used electric steering rack in less than perfect condition for a Genesis and maybe do a electric motor swap or just find a used unit in good condition and just replace your rusted out rack unit with it.

I'd agree with you had I found one at a reasonable price. Used parts from a totalled car DID cost me $1350 in local currency and importing parts is very difficult around here.

Fixing my currently rusted one is so far my only reasonable solution despite appearing as an impossible task. And truth be told, it's going far smoother than I expected but hit a snag with the motor and can't figure out how to open it. I just ordered a tool that would "hopefully" help me pry it open but I'd still hear out any notes from anyone whom attempted such thing.

Honestly, it looks the EXACT same as the one I have but I've already reached this part (only took me 2 hours to pry it from its place when he took 5 seconds). I at least now know I can depend on guides from BMW owners

I used a few BMW guides to help me remove my sub-frame on my 2015 5.0 Genesis. Many repairs has the same overall process among the various car makes since most parts(or chassis structures) are built the same or similar.
